I was watching a Barca game yesterday on TV (probably a replay) and the commentator mentioned that Pedro has been linked to us in the media of late.

What are peoples thoughts on this link? I don't know much of him but have heard him spoken of highly at times, and a player starting frequently for Barca must have some positive traits to his game!

Do we think it is even mildly likely?

Nope. Although it would have made the vice captain issue a little more entertaining.

Bookmakers SkyBET have made Liverpool the 5/1 favourites to sign Barcelona’s excellent Spanish winger Pedro before the end of the January transfer window.
The Reds are favoured above Arsenal at 6/1, Manchester United at 12/1 and Chelsea at 40/1.
At 26-years-old, Pedro has already won virtually everything there is to win in football with both his club and country. He’s secured a World Cup medal with Spain, countless La Liga titles with Barcelona, and two Champions League win successes too.
However, Pedro is no longer guaranteed a starting spot with Catalan giants, having started 10 of Barcelona’s 17 games in La Liga this term, and just half of their Champions League matches. In this time, he’s still scored a very impressive 11 goals, but if reports are to be believed, the Spaniard is ready to quit the Nou Camp.
He would be an unbelievable coup for a Liverpool side currently sitting in fourth place following an unexpectedly good first half of the season. This was mainly thanks to the 20 goals scored by Luis Suarez, who will likely start up top for Brendan Rodgers’ side in the FA Cup against Oldham on Sunday.

What do we think the fee would be? It would be a great signal of intent from the owners/ management!

He's an excellent player - great movement, pretty good finisher and very good engine. If we can get him for 10-15 million, it would be a steal.

He'd be an amazing signing. Top player in his prime. Anything short of 20m reasonable.

Personally I reckon if he goes, it'll be to Italy, but he is the right kind of signing if we want to be champions league material.

The only worry with Pedro is that he is Barca born and bred. He's been with Barca since he was about 16. Will he adapt to life outside the Nou Camp?

Good players can play anywhere. I cant see him having any issues at all. Forget salah and get pedro instead.

interestingly barca have not suffered as much with messi being out as some would have feared.

Sanchez is in the form of his life.

The attacking front 3 don't 'have' to pass to Messi ... They can make the right pass more often when his shadow isn't on the pitch.

I'd have Pedro over Tello in a blink. He's much further on in his development, can't see either happening though.
