Somebody mentioned Ravel Morrison yesterday and rumours are that Allardyce is looking to shift him in January in order to free up funds. I wonder if it's an attitude problem with him.

[article]According to Jason Burt in the Daily Telegraph, West Ham are willing to sell Ravel Morrison to free up funds for new recruits in January.
According to Burt, “it is understood that the 20-year-old midfielder, who has 18 months left on his current contract, can go if an acceptable bid is tabled. West Ham have already received enquiries over Morrison. The player’s current deal is complicated and West Ham would like to renegotiate it if he does stay.”
Burt adds: ” It includes a £18 million release clause and a second clause which states Morrison’s pay will quadruple to £60,000 a week if a £10 million offer is made for him. However, that clause is further complicated as the bid would have to be unconditional and the £10 million would also have to be made in one up-front payment rather than in stages, as is the norm in most transfers.”[/article]
That 60k per week wage raise might force their hand, especially given their precarious situation. Imagine it being activated in Jan only for them to get relegated at the end of the season.

The reason for selling would seem to be the clause and its financial implications rather than an issue with his attitude -- at least from the report by Jason Burt (who doesn't half talk shi!te by the way).
They may want to sell him simply because right now his value is relatively high following a few decent performances and the risks involved in waiting for that value to appreciate when you take into account his past (and perhaps present) are too high.
What about De Bruyne at Chelsea? He's talented and doesn't get a look in.
Hope that Jay Rodriguez link means nothing, you would think we would be looking at Lallana if we were looning at anyone from Saints, Shaw aswell but he looks a dead cert for Chelsea if and when he moves.
Shaw's star has faded somewhat since being rightly lauded for some good performances earlier on this season. I think he would best be advised to stay at Southampton and complete his footballing education.
