Some talk of him being offered a new deal.

Where do people see him this year? Worth giving a run in the first team?

I've always liked him. We were dead right to get him when we did. What we've done with him since is baffling, but there's not a classier defender of his age at the club, and it's time we tried - at least tried - to get him involved in the first team squad.

Personally I think Ryan Kent has to be used, Harry Wilson and Ojo, too. They're all so exciting.

I think in theory sending him out on loan was fine, but he's had major fitness issues, so barely gotten any playing time.

We've effectively had zero development in 2 years. I don't think sending him out on loan again would be fruitful. I'd just let him challenge Skrtel, Lovren and Sakho straight away. Most importantly, if he actually comes in and performs well once for the first team, reward him by just keep picking him again. Don't drop him by default for a senior player.

What I love about Kent is his directness and trickery is allied to a deadly eye for a pass.

A really special young player...

He got injured during pre-season last summer, so that was a blow.

That's the first step, play him in the friendlies. If he does well there then he can stay and challenge for a place. If not, I don't mind another loan but it needs to be a PL club where he can actually get to know the league.

Re the youngsters coming through, Kent, Wilson, and Ojo are all quality in terms of attackers. We should see something of all of them this season.

His dad said he has been promised that he'll get his chance during pre season.
He has looked very good in the U-21 Euros.

Ha, he's got ridiculous potential. And we should have a proper schedule printed out in Ayre's office suggesting when we consider his next contract, because it's time now we act rather than react and keep these lads on side.

Some of those tackles from 20-40 seconds 😡 I am assuming that is Everton.

Heh, happy to declare I was at least the 23rd person to jump on the Ryan Kent bandwagon about 6 months ago.

He's the show.

Only saw Ilori once or twice for reserves and he had too good to be there feel to him. This would be a good thing.

Swindon Town have asked about getting Kent on loan. I must say I'd rather we bring him on ourselves. Hopefully Rodgers really will look at him carefully in pre-season before making the decision.

That being said, Ibe's loan to Derby ultimately had the effect of breaking him into our 1st team. A loan might work for him. Same with Ojo.

Injured again. Thigh injury - subbed after 29 minutes. Extent of injury unknown.

If he wants a chance, he needs to stay fit. The same goes for the rest of the youngsters trying to make a breakthrough - the window of opportunity for them to impress is small, so they've really got to stay fit to get a chance, and then impress when they do get it.

[article=http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/liverpool-launch-15million-bid-asier-5960885]Relegated QPR head a cluster of Championship clubs interested in taking Liverpool’s Tiago Ilori on loan.

Chris Ramsey is one of a number of bosses in the second tier who are looking to take in the 22-year-old defender next season.

Kop gaffer Rodgers sees Ilori as one for the future but the club feels it is too much of a gamble to throw the centre-half into battle in the Premier League.

Ilori, who has been starring for his country at the Under-21s tournament in the Czech Republic, was sent to Bordeaux last term but made only a handful of appearances.

The Reds are keen to toughen up the youngster with a season in the Championship and Rangers, who have seen veteran Rio Ferdinand retire, are now in the market for a replacement.

But they are not the only ones who have registered an interest and Rodgers will have to make a decision as he will want assurances that the former Sporting Lisbon defender, signed for £7m two seasons ago, will be a regular starter.[/article]

I'd be up for him being one of the youngsters used in the Europa League.
Definitely

Be worth a few of our younger players getting run outs in that. Not too many like, because it would be nice if we could try and win some silverware, especially with its CL incentive

The Europa League is now our most realistic chance of UCL qualification
