How long before Sterling leaves for 60M?

He won't go to another English club, but Real Madrid and Barcelona are likely destinations if he carries on at this rate.

If we get another 5 years out of him then I'll be happy enough.

Maybe just maybe we're building a great side ourselves around world class young talents like Sterling, Markovic, Ibe, Can, Origi, Ilori, and Robinson.

Lord God give me strength with this fucking moron.
To be fair he is right for once, it's hardly "beyond the pale" how good Sterling is...

That makes no sense at all.

It's hard to believe how good he is.... It beggars belief.... It's unbelievable..... Yeah...
Those would convey your meaning better.

It isn't beyond the pale, unless of course it's completely unacceptable for a player of ours to be good.

😉

hopefully he's been dragged into the scouse vortex at such a young age he's gone full native, been molbyerised.

If we can start winning trophies under BR then there's no reason for him to leave.

Besides, the refusal to sell Suarez to a domestic rival shows that we probably won't want to sell the likes of Sterling to any PL clubs. Can you really see a kid from Jamaica with x amount of kids hungering for a move to Spain?

Just generally I get very impatient with all this 'woe is us' talk about our good players demanding moves within a year or two. It's not inevitable at all.

It happened with the great players from Rafa's team because the club was in absolute turmoil and also because they were latin, and so naturally drawn to Real and Barca. It happened with Suarez because he genuinely is one of the best players in the world, and the best player ever to play for the club. He's clearly an outlier. He was always going to be tough to hold on to.

But if we start consistently challenging for the big titles and keep Rodgers then there's simply no reason we can't hold on to players like Sterling, Markovic etc.

I don't think 'hungering' is the best choice in this context. 'Hankering' would be more appropriate. Also I think x=1.

You had a like all the way up to "Robinson".
He was made to look like an utter cunt by Navas last night.

Just as a fairly needless by the by... He absolutely fucking dumps all over your Belgian fruit Januzaj.

He's kinds like Januzaj, only 40 fucking times better at everything.

At the moment you are 100% correct.

Still think both are going to turn out to be fantastic players in the next few years.

It's always been 100% correct, the Januzaj hype last year was obscene and really risked his development, just like Sterling two years ago. The difference is this season could make Sterling as a top top player in this league, this season could make or break whether Januzaj is anything other than just potential.

It's gonna be much harder for him this season without Suarez as he's gonna be man marked and kicked to fuck.

Thankfully as we have Lallana, Sterling, Coutinho, Sturridge, and even Markovic, you can't really mark everyone out of the game.

Seriously? I think Robinson will go on to be a Liverpool defensive legened, following the likes of Hughes, Hansen, Thompson, Smith, Nicol and Babb.

I'm not really disagreeing with you....

Januzaj has it all to prove this season, Sterling just has maintain and build on last season and I think he will be one of the top players in the league.

Still think Januzaj is a fantastic prospect and will go on to be one of the top players in the league in time. All to prove yet but I am confident he will.

The only worry I have is with us moving to 3-4-1-2 the only position he will be able to get a game is at 10.
Expecting to see Mata back to his Chelsea best in his preferred position and under LVG so Januzaj's chances could be limited.

Does Van Gaal have a history with youth? I imagine you'll play a number of systems, so he'll get some chances, but I think less time in the limelight will benefit him, to many hopes were pinned on him last season.
