So, to recap, Wales were so subjugated in the past it was considered as a bit of England with people who couldn't speak English properly and with a penchant for sheep? So subjugated, their cricket players were happy to be called 'England'?

Is this right?
Pretty much sums it up I think.

Pearce Olympic squad:

Keepers:
Jack Butland - English
Grant Adam - Scottish
Jason Steele - English

Defenders:
Neil Taylor - Welsh
Richards - English, over-age
Caulker - English
Tomkins - English
Craig Cathcart - Northern Irish
Danny Rose - English

Midfield:
Ramsey - Welsh
Allen - Welsh
Lansbury - English
Cleverley - English
Bale - Welsh
Giggs - Welsh, over-age

Strikers:
Bellamy - Welsh, over-age
Sturridge - English
Rhodes - Scottish

Did I get it right?

I'm not going to rise to the borderline racist abuse aimed at my countrymen. I'm just content in the knowledge that all the Irish continue to worship a good Welshman like St Patrick.

I was looking forward to your response. Wales is a great country full of mad bastards. Shit at sport though. Except singing.

It explains a lot actually. According to St. Patrick he was up a hill with his sheep (he was, after all, a shepherd for many years). Anyway, he ambiguously describes a terrible temptation that fell upon him when he was up there. Scholars have debated what this temptation may have been for many years. When you factor in the Welshness though, I think the answer is clear....

I've always liked you Dave, but the mighty sports of rugby and boxing must have slipped your mind when you typed that post mate. Basically any sport where the warrior instinct can come to the fore and you can rely on Wales being amongst the world leaders.

Where was the warrior instinct when England made you a place for their holiday homes?

How do Irishmen and South Africans get into it then ?

That reminds me of something actually. Out of all the sports over here cricket is the one that has the most non born nationals in the international set up, when the players concerned were asked about this they nearly all to man responded....."It was my dream to represent Wales"

Every nation has tasted defeat at one time or another, it's how you respond that counts.

Those minor set backs have helped to instill the never take a backward step mentality that we see displayed by all Welshmen today.

Lol @ Craig Cathcart and Giggs.

Kyle Walker? Ryan Bertrand? Jack Colback? Wilshere? McEachran? Rodwell? Scott Sinclair? Matt Phillips? Nathan Redmond? Jay Rodriguez?

Walker > Cathcart
Bertrand > Rose
Wilshere > Cleverley
Sinclair > Lansbury
Any +23 player > Giggs

Lol @ Craig Cathcart and Giggs.

Kyle Walker? Injured
Ryan Bertrand? - Taylor
Jack Colback? - Who?
Wilshere? - injured
McEachran? - I rate him but there's more experienced players.
Rodwell? - snubbed by Pearce
Scott Sinclair? - Don't think so.
Matt Phillips? - He's good but I don't think he'll make it.
Nathan Redmond? - No
Jay Rodriguez? - No

Walker > Cathcart
Bertrand > Rose
Wilshere > Cleverley
Sinclair > Lansbury
Any +23 player > Giggs

Kyle Walker isn't listed in Physioroom as being injured. It was only a toe injury he received anyway.....footballers these days. What the heck's going on with Wilshere?! He was only supposed to be out for a week or two near the beginning of the season, then he was set to return in January or February, then there were rumours he was going to return for the Euros, and now he's still out!

The only reason Cathcart is in, is because he's Irish. I really couldn't find anyone else who is U23 and good enough.

Pearce Olympic squad:
EDIT: They can have two keepers so ADAM out, Sinclair in.

I just can't see any Northern Irish players being in there, Cathcart had a heart scare recently aswell. Jonny Evans would've been there but he's a year too old.

Really?
Evans would have definitely been there had he been born in 89.

Well then. No Olympics for Cathcart.

lol wonder if that'll mean no Olympics for Butland aswell, because he ended up going to the European Championships and Pearce said that anyone who goes won't be considered in his Olympic squad. I think he should pick the players that didn't get playing though like Martin Kelly, Phil Jones, and Butland.

Butland will be picked according to the papers.
