SOooooooo. We were all (i think) hoping for some resolutions for some of our on and off field problems come summer.
Well it looks like we will have our wish.
Do you think that we are heading for still waters or rocky seas?
Whats your dream scenario, and your nightmare. And best guess what do you see happening? Who do you think will still be here come mid august? What do you think our team will look like?
Is this going to he a great summer for us, or a nightmare season of uncertainty?

Owners, Manager, Players, Stadium...

New owners committed to starting the stadium (yes, I know we might not full it but I don't care) before anything. Including the manager.

I think Sunny has more or less nailed it with regards to the most we can hope from the new owners - a sound business model that will see us begin work on a world class stadium and a genuine attempt to restore order and respect to the way we run this club. It's impossible to determine whether we'll get that and really whether this summer turns out to be a nightmare of uncertainty or not depends on how quickly the club is sold and the new owners settle in.

I still find myself torn on the manager issue. I am, like everyone else, sick of the excuse-making, stubborn insistence on certain things and the reluctance to rectify obvious problems, but am scared of change. This season has been a dismal and unacceptable failure and I suppose you could well argue that the next manager would struggle to do worse than 7th, but I'm trying to retain a bit of perspective. Rafa is essentially a good manager and we've all struggled to come up with acceptable alternatives (Mourinho, who won't come, aside). It's a worrying situation, especially given everything else going on. We don't really have anyone to put our faith in when it comes to making the decision.

In terms of transfers, it'd be nice to not have to sit through another fucking disaster of a summer again. I have low expectations. We'll probably see a bit of an exodus. Hopefully we'll make better use of what limited funds we have this time and sign some decent players that will actually have a positive impact.

It could of course change very quickly, but at the moment I believe next season will be worse than this one and if it is (or the same) we will be in big trouble.
I said before I don't believe we will do a Leeds type free fall but we could easily be looking at mid table positions.
This is not just about us as a club, but also looking at the continued strengthenings at City/Spurs etc.

Best case scenario...A multi gazillionaire comes in starts the stadium buys a shed load of top class players and brings in a manager who can manage them

1. Very rich dude buys us
2. Sacks Rafa
3. Hires Jose
4. Give us 100m cash to invest on players

5. In a flurry of activity, we sign: Nilmar, Joe Cole, Iniesta, and Gareth Bale

It's impossible to guess anything because the big decisions will all be made behind the scenes. The crucial thing is how long those decisions take. If the ownership issue hasn't been resolved by the end of June, we'll be in for a nightmarish summer and probably season because the club will be in paralysis. If Rafa resigns (as I think, increasingly, he will) and goes to Juve, who decides on the next manager? Surely that can't happen until the new owners have taken control? Any delays in this will cause masses of speculation and anxiety, possibly leading to our best players growing restless and risking us missing out on the best transfer targets.

So, whatever happens, my most fervent wish is that it's resolved quickly.

Good post, and I fear your doomsday scenario is more likely than not.

Until proven otherwise i'm of the belief that it will be a great summer for us.

New owners will be in within 2 months.
We'll have a decent transfer kitty.
Work on the stadium will begin within the next 4-6 months.
The managers position will be resolved one way or the other within a couple of weeks of the season finishing (if he doesn't quit then, he'll be with us next season).

Players coming in? No idea.

Players going? Riera, Babel, Cavalieri and Aurelio for certain. I'm also concerned once again that Mascher might choose to move on as well.

new owners with commitment to new stadium although I do not think it is that necessary to build this quickly if the new owners have some good dough to back the club whilst still at Anfield

I think Rafa will quit, we will finish 7th IMO and I think he will use the I have taken them as far as a I can speech. sO new manager in.

We then need some decent money to change the squad for the new managers benefit, nothing too drastic but a good striker to play 4-4-2 or as backup, Stevie and Aqua to share CM attacking spot next to masher, buy a top left winger and left back.

That is all folks

Which top left winger?

The closest we'll get to one is Vladimir fucking Putin.
