Yes, and that was admittedly a big blot on his copybook, but he himself admitted as much and apologised straight afterwards. Contrast his behaviour with that of EBJT who's gone on being a weapons-grade cnut on and off the field for the rest of his career.

He's been a great player, no question about that, a rung below Gerrard but there's no shame in that.
Biased though I certainly am, I don't think that's right. Goals are not the only measure of quality, maybe not even the most important one in a midfield player. To take just one example: with Lampard in for Gerrard we would have lost in Istanbul.
I don't disagree with that (hence my explosive comment), but I honestly believe that lampard is the better attacking mid, whereas Gerrard is the best complete midfielder
Goals may not be the measure of a better player, buy lampard contributes enough in the attacking third for a decade to be classed as better.

Gerrard is the most complete midfielder since Graeme Souness. Biased or not he is better than Lampard. The stats are skewered as it doesn't paint the whole picture. You would expect Lampard to score more goals having played in stronger teams than Gerrard where his only duty was to play in the attacking 3rd without defending.
