likely to be sold in the summer...

Something about this player I like... He would fit well into our system of play..

If he could just sort out his occasional mishaps, he would become an immense player. . His style of play is a little lost under Mourinho’s system. I think Benitez was the only manager to get the best out of him. Can slot into the hooding midfielder role quite nicely.

Worth a punt ?

He'd cost a bomb unfortunately, but if he was available cheap I'd be interested. Despite his ability to turn off, there's something I quite like about Loose.

Nah. Talented, but there is too much risk there for us to spend over 20M. We need players that know what they're about - not floating between positions at the age of 27 trying to find their place in life.

I can see him going to Barca who like to play that kind of player in defence.

Luiz is 27?! Fuck, I thought he was 25 tops.

I know what you mean. He seems like one of those players that has still got time on his side to "develop", which isn't necessarily untrue, just not as much as you thought.

He's actually still 26 but turning 27 in a few weeks so might as well go with that given we're talking about a summer move.

he's a massive fucking liability in defence, he's decent in midfield but he can be a god damn son of a bitch renegade at times too, he's not disciplined enough to stay in position and we'd basically have to get other players to cover for him shit loads of times, he's not good enough for us to warrant doing that though

Every time I see him I am reminded of Gary Neville's comment during one match - "it's as if there is a kid in the crowd with an Xbox controller controlling his movement"

Fantastic player, but it doesn't make sense for anybody if Chelsea sell to us. We'll overpay, and Chelsea will strengthen a direct rival.

IF Chelsea sell, it'll likely be to Barcelona, but I doubt it'll happen.

Both rafa and mourinho see him as a liability in defence and both used him as a DM. Plays like a headless chicken, no thanks.

Good player... Nice shot. Unsurte how much more we are to invest in the defence. Maybe we should straighten out our DM capacities first. For all we know our CDs are good afterall.

he'll go to barca if chelsea allow it . He's everything they look for in a defender . i was reading that carra interview with Xavi recently and xavi was banging on about demichelis and what he adds to a team , bringing the ball out of defence. Doesn't matter to them that he's fucking useless at the part of the game his position is named after .

He's hugely talented but no one, not even he I suspect, knows his best position.

He wouldn't be an upgrade on anyone at the back, because he's too much of a dreamer and a wanderer. And as Keni said, we're not talking about potential anymore.

Sold to Barca to help fund their mega bucks striker purchases.

I just think if he is managed right you will get the best out of him.

Rodgers would be able to do that. He showed leadership and stability under Benitez. DM would be his preferred position imho, sitting in front of the back 4

The lad has talent, it just needs to be harnessed correctly.

Exactly how I see him, he's a talented boy but what do you do with him? Big risk on whether you could get the best out of him too.

If ever there was such a thing as a luxury defensive player who can defend well but also has a tendency to let games fly by him, then it's him. He's like the Aquilani of the backline.

Another defender who can't defend.

We definitely need one of those.

For 20 odd fucking million.

What managed by Brendan on his xbox controller from the touch line?
