2 free headers in the box? no goals.

Leaving your man wide fucking open 5 feet from goal, game & season over for Liverpool.

I've been a big Agger fan for a while now.

But he shouldn't be on the bench the rest of the season.

Let Carra try and coach Coates into the player he can be. At least he's 23 and can get better.

Agger is never going to get better on what he is - a pretty good defender who's just not good enough for a team that wants to be better than 'pretty good.'

Coates is worse than agger.

The amount of cheap goals we Concede makes me wonder if it something deeper, as deecent/good defenders are looking awful.

On this form, there is no question that Agger's contributions to our attacking play don't justify the defensive fuck-ups. Not even close. No defender can possibly compensate for giving up 1 or 2 goals in every game by their attacking play, no matter how good it might be.

I am a little bit overwhelmed by this all, I think it's too early to analyze what's wrong with our defense this season. We started the season with 4 good CBs and now the only good one we have is Carra, who is retiring. I don't know what's happening.

He looks jaded and mentally off. Tonight was another low.

Hope he finds his form soon as I still can't see Rodgers drop him.

another senior player who needs a massive kick up the arse . He seems way too comfortable and complacent at the moment . I'd love for him to get back to the agger of his first full season here where his main priority was just to defend , now i get the feeling he's more interested and concerned with the moments when we have possession .

Agger personally responsible for both goals today. Has been utter shit defensively now for three games on the trot. Yet Skrtel is the one on the bench, makes sense.

Oh wait, but Agger is so classy on the ball...fuck off. Sorry if I prefer my defenders to defend.

His shooting wants to make me throttle him. I think with defence coaching he could probably defend ok.

Should of cashed in when Man City came sniffing..
.

This is one of the things that makes me laugh, some people were giving the owners shit because they were open to selling Agger.
Agger plays shit, they say nothing.

And really this all goes back to the summer, I got called all sorts of things because I said I'd rather sell Agger and Skrtel than give them big money deals. We instead did what the majority of fans wanted us to do, to 'keep our best players' at any cost and now we're looking a little bit silly. Agger is having a mare and Skrtel can't even get in the team.

Am I the only one that thinks Agger isn't even all that good on the ball? He can take the ball forward a bit, and make a pass. Surely this is the least people should expect from a professional footballer, no matter what position they play in?

Totally validates the view that you sell your top players before their peak. That 22m would be handy around now.

I mostly agree with you on this one Ross - that the old adage "you never sell your best players" is a load of nonsense - you do sell them - when the price is right or vastly inflated.

Ultimately the success of selling one of your better players - is what you do with the money you get.

Given our recent record in the transfer market their is a good argument for not selling - cause there's a fairly good chance we would have spent it on pish.

That saying - we probably should have cashed in on one of them during the summer - with the benefit of hindsight.

He was indeed shocking last night.
I don't think he's become a bad player all of a sudden. His form has dropped significantly and he should be dropped to the bench - maybe this will give him a kick in the ass.

As bad as Agger was for the two goals, we should have had the game in the bag long before then... players worse than Agger last night? Both full backs... I have never seen such inept play... neither are Dani Alves, and it's painfully obvious. I have never seen two players give the ball away as much as them. Borini, what the fuck? £11m wasted. It's painful watching. Shelvey needs to learn how to stay onside, I think it was 3/4 times last night? I haven't seen that kind of stats since Bellamy.

This is a poor team people... a poor team.

On the plus side, West Brom were worse last night, but at least they can score.

Where's fucking Modo? Add this game to your "log" of mistakes against Agger have you? Or are you still banging on about Carra?

Ball playing CB's etc etc. Didn't do his job for the first goal, was rinsed by Lukaku for the 2nd and missed two free headers, one of them he didn't even make contact with the ball.

Today's game in a microcosm is why Agger has been criticized.

Oh and Enrique and Shelvey weren't any better, their touch, passing and invention was fucking gash, but seeing as this is about Agger, I'll save the savaging they should get.

Yes, yes it is. Perhaps its because he's cool and trendy with tatts and a mohican that makes him stand out as brilliant.

I agree with most of you. My performance the last 10 minutes of yesterday's game was NOT good enough. It's as simple as that!!!!!

Daniel Agger@DanielAgger
But thank you for letting me know:0)))))))

Is this a genuine account I wonder?

I think it is. Good for him.

Hamman was the same - a player with such good technique but his long range shots were appalling, usually sailing over the bar or wide of the posts save for a rare one that flew in. It's hard to forgive such well-coached pros for repeatedly being so inept at such things.

yeah respect to agger for owning up, compared to shelvey who's been awful but can't see it.

I am for now going with the old saying, form is temporary, class is permanent.

But his form is of great concern and a good case could be made for dropping him. I don't think he will be, more so they'll aim to get rid of the mistakes pronto.

I thought he played well, actually he didn't put a foot wrong (he placed his head in the wrong spot on one occasion though), for the first 80 minutes last night.

But these lapses in concentration they need to go away, starting now.

I don't think anyone has ever seen so many mistakes so frequently from Agger as has been the case over the past five or six games. It's probably his worst form of his career.

People are being insanely harsh on him still in this thread but I guess that's as expected. LTW, you'd play him with the Reserves? Is that supposed to be funny or are you serious?
