With hindsight I wish we sold him to city. We could have bought a couple of players. 2 games, 2 errors and our entire defence has been shambolic. He needs either a better partner or to be replaced.
Skrtel and Agger is not dominating enough, and Skrtel has been absent for 2 games.
Next game I'd start Carra and Skrtel

He's a good player. Not great, but good. He's better than some of his detractors say, but not as good as his biggest fans (KHL) proclaim.

Yep. I would think that Skrtel would be a better match for Lukaku at the minute anyway. And Carra has been good the last 3 games.

It was in an area of less danger, Agger left his marker a yard from goal and gave him free reign. You're trying to lay part of the blame on Carragher, A) because you hate him and B) so it absolves Agger of 'some' blame.
Forgive me if I ignore the fuck out of what you're saying. Agger was shite, again, Carragher once again helped us display an organised approach, only to be let down by two hapless bellends who've fucked us over all season.

You know what Modo, this is what galls me about idiots who pretend to know what they're talking about when they want us to go all continental and have all these exciting players at the back who play good football, while dismissing the idea that a defenders duty and preferred credentials, first and foremost, should the ability to defend. "Oh, but he looks so fucking great bringing the ball out from the back". As someone said the other day, he's dined off the West Ham goal forever.
Forget the fact he's just cost us two goals in two games though. Whatever. Why don't you start a thread about how shit Carragher is now he's well over the hill. We can do a stat for stat comparison with the hapless, cultured ones who are keeping him out the team while supposedly at peak age, while leaking mistakes left, right and centre.
Agger has been a bit erratic lately, I admit that. Does it make him a poor defender? In my book no.
Maybe we need a new defender, but imo Agger, Skrtel and Carra are on the same boat. None of them fills me with confidence atm.

He's had 3 good games on a trot and that's great but I'm not convinced that he's the solution.
Course he's not, but laying blame on him at every opportunity while jumping to the defense of Agger because he's a 'fav' is just bollocks. Carragher is finished more or less but is having an Indian Summer and can provide some invaluable experience. Agger is over rated and Skrtel is rash but by and large equally decent value while probably ultimately not quite good enough. Maybe one or both of them will prove to be good enough with the right partner? At the moment, they both look unreliable and largely much of a muchness.
