Credit for the strikers?

We know that at every opportunity Rodgers seeks to take credit for any positive that occurs, which just makes him like other managers to be fair.

But if he deserves so much credit for creating a system that saw Sturridge and Suarez blitz the league last season - doesn't he deserve some criticism for not being able to get anything out of Lambert, Balotelli and Borini?

Three strikers all having their worst seasons under him.

You could argue Lambert might be over the hill, but Borini and Balotelli don't appear to have any issues.

Why can't he set up the team in a way that gets goals out of them?

I agree, he bought Lambert in to do a job, but he's made him redundant and hasn't even attempted to utilise him. We often praise Rodgers on his tactical flexibility, but this shows the complete opposite in my opinion, Sturridge was out for a massive portion of the season, and Lambert was very good last season, we should have got more out of him, instead Brendan played him expecting him to be a slow version of Sturridge.

Well starting any them would probably be a start to getting something out of them. He either plays Sturridge or no strikers at all. 3-7-0.

Balotelli started for a good few weeks at the beginning of the season, however he was playing in a way that didn't suit the team, and the team was very disjointed.

Since then balotelli has tried to improve his all round play, however he is given fleeting chances. Sure, half the match at the weekend, but normally it's closer to 10 minutes.

Lambert started poorly, improved and got some goals, and then completely dropped.

Borini is just a bit shit.

So for me, Rodgers has fucked up with 2 of the 3 strikers. He's hung balo out to dry on many occasions (helped by the captain as well), and Lambert he presses, and the forgets to name him.

No wonder the strikers look like they don't give a fuck, because Rodgers doesn't give a fuck about them

Ballotelli got a chance the weekend and stood offside most of the game.
He's been treated fairly ruthlessly but there's a reason for that.
He couldn't be arsed sitting on the bench against Arsenal when the club doctor passed him fit to play.
He's had his chances but was too fucking useless to take them.

Now Lambert has been treated unfairly sure he's exceptionally average but Rodgers signed him for a reason.
As back up so fucking use him as back up.
Not 2 minute embarrassing cameos of trying to flick a header on when the tika taka had failed for 88 minutes.
I've felt sorry for him all season.
His confidence must be shot.

As for Borini.
He made his bed now he can fucking lie in it.
He'll be lucky if the likes of Sunderland are interested in him again.
