Villa have just dropped a point at home to West Ham. Judging by their latest run of results and by the tough schedule they're facing, they might keep their tradition of fading in the new year. Here's hoping.
 
Spurs & Villa have surprised many with their form to get themselves into the push for 4th (as have we, but for the opposite reasons). Citeh are inconsistent as f&$!.

I don't know why so many are determined that, with us 4 points back and 51 points to play for, we're done. We've still got a good chance - Villa, Citeh and Spurs are hardly on a per with Gullit's Milan...

We'll scrape 4th.
 
I don't see Spurs or Villa being in the mix in April. It'll be between us and City. I'll be interested to see if City sign anyone else this month, if Robinho leaves they may replace him.

Agree that Citeh are the most dangerous of those teams for our chances of nabbing fourth, and I don't see Villa's challenge lasting till April either. Spurs I'm not so sure about. There are holes in that squad, but there are also some very talented players. I wouldn't rule them out.

We're still in with a shout most definitely of retaining a CL spot but we need a dramatic upturn in performances. The worrying thing is there's no signs of that

Confidence wise we're fucked and i don't think we can beat Spurs. Rafa has lost it and his team selection is rubbish. He can't motivate players and the players doesn't respond to him anymore.

I hope the board get their act together and sack the fucker.

We still have injuries to a large number of players the confidence I imagine is still rock bottom. Maybe a decent performance on Wed can give us something to build on.
 
I'm not normally a fan of emphasising the importance of a single league game, but this for me is an exception to the rule. It will give us a major boost if we pull it off IMO, not just in terms of starting to rebuild confidence but also since the opposition are among our closest competitors for a CL place. If we play with the kind of grit we showed for much of the game against Stoke, I think we can do it. One Tottenham supporter I spoke to last weekend is nervous about the game, expecting a backlash from us.
