You can argue, that despite that team looking good, Everton's squad are actually stronger than ours.

Man for man on paper that sounds mad, but looking at how each of the equavilent players in both sides have or havent performed their squad is actually better than ours.

When you have that level of underperforming (sp) in a team there's a serious problem.
On current form their squad is better. If ours was playing to its full potential they'd be nowhere near.

Nothing wrong with your spelling of "underperforming" BTW. "Equavilent" on the other hand.... ;D

Do you mean Rafa isn't using him correctly? How so?
LW starts early into his Liverpool career were diabolical. Instead of a couple cameos on the RW leading to a start or two only to keep his spot if he plays well or helps contribute to a better overall team effort. Of course he's been used incorrectly, besides Reina and Torres who has Rafa used absolutely correctly this year. Degen at RW? no, Yossi at LW? no Gerrard at DM? no ...

except for a few, there's no purpose served by the others being here other than to make up the numbers.

Why get rid of Benayoun and keep Babel?
babel can still become a star, which we otherwise can't afford to buy. so its worth hoping for the best.
benayoun is old and will soon be worthless, and he's no good on the wing, and we have better players in the middle. so its time to recover some cash and replace him with pacheco.

A bit harsh on the Greek. he's not a long term solution obviously but he's been arguably our best defender this season. Hopefully he's still got in in him for one more year next year too.

he's useful to a team that sits back in their own half, hoofing the ball, and allows the other team to apply pressure and send in crosses at will.

for a team that keeps the ball and looks to attack, he'd be absolutely useless against counter-attacks.

Agreed, but a third to maybe half of the league plays that style of football, so he has a purpose.

I wouldn't have him against nippy Arshavin types though.

degen and aurelio would be the safest starting point. even if they turned up with missing limbs the coroner couldn't rule out an accidental injury

the biggest deficiency for me is no senior second striker of note. if we bought Milito or Negredo when we could of for like £12m, when the Keane money disappeared we would be in a better position

I would also argue Kuyt should be put out to pasture and we need a fast winger who has a good touch and a trick or two

we need to invest in some players to make the squad stronger or get lucky with free's. it's obvious there are financial constraints which shows up in the squad

hahaha jesus christ. one of the good things the owners ever did was not hand that money back to benitez. benitez has had the chance to try out other strikers like nemeth and pacheco. he chose ngog. he had the chance to give babel more games. he chose to add maxi to the wage bill. he had the chance to try aquilani in the attacking role, he went with lucas.

financial constraints indeed. the problem we have is with the managers mental constraints.

Nemeth and Pacheco are not senior strikers of international quality, which is what we have needed in the last 18 months. we have actually signed one for next season on a free so hopefully when Torres is injured we will perform better but you just dont know, it's a gamble and i'd much prefer a Negredo or a Milito but that is the financial constraints we operate under so it's no good blaming Benitez for that. He has got to work minor miracles

Aquaflop 20m
Keane 20m
Johnson 18m

Did someone mention financial constraints and miracles?

riera is a senior winger of international quality. kuyt is a senior striker of international quality. don't waste you're time hoping jovanawhat? is something or someone we need.

pacheco is one of the few players in the last 18 months that has looked the part. but he's not a senior striker of international quality so we don't need him? but hang on a minute n'gog is also not a senio international, but he looks fucking hopeless so got picked week after week?

don't you see the pattern in this. beintez is wrong, he doesn't look at experience/youth, or balance quality/fitness. he just looked at the decisions he's had to make and the only consistent thing in the last 18 months is that he makes the wrong decision. there is no defence for that and only a fucking idiot would hand him any money
