Karius did do that the other day, but at least it looked like a genuine mistake. Ming makes it look intentional.

I think Karius looks ok on everything but the high ball to the far post. He is really struggling to read the flight of the ball, which is strange. Almost think he may need corrective lens to fix his depth perception because he misreads by so much.

Karius may improve, he may not, but to swap him for Mignolet would be a big mistake.

Whilst I dont disagree regarding potential. Right now, Mignolet looks a much much better keeper.
Surely Karius ought to have fullfilled some potential to actually be better before he gets the jersey?
Growing up in public makes zero sense.
ESPECIALLY given the strong start to the season Mignolet had made.

Oh come on Hansern. Brendan's ratings were fair. He gave no one below 7 except for Karius, who would probably be what most people would label the only blemish on an otherwise dominant and sometimes brilliant performance. No one is dragging the team or the performance down. Just because we win a game it doesn't mean we can't objectively point out where we could have improved. We could have scored more goals too and been out of sight, so that any threat from WBA wouldn't have mattered. Does that mean I'm moaning and not enjoying the win?

It's a bit rich that a couple of posters are labelling others moaners for pointing out a few issues, it's even less surprising that it comes from posters who generally champion absolutely everything through rose-tinted glasses.

Got to say most of Brendan's ratings were there or thereabouts, except for Karius' which was a little churlish. Maybe he made one or two minor errors but his distribution and confidence in making himself available and an integral part of the defensive backline when he wasn't 'keeping' per se, which is clearly what Klopp wants, was good to very good.
I also saw him take a couple of good crosses out of the air so it wasn't like he was an abject failure in that regard, and although he gave away the corner (big deal) he wasn't in any way responsible for the subsequent failure of our CBs to get a head on it (in fact it was left to poor Firmino to attempt that) or luck WBA received when the ball fell perfectly for them, to score. I'd have given him a 6.

Personally I don't think that Mignolet is a much better keeper, though, dodgy that he is, he is certainly better at coming to claim crosses than Karius.
However what Karius is good at is distributing the ball quickly and setting up counterattacks.
He is also more than happy to come out quickly out of the goals, allowing us I think to push a higher defensive line.
These are I reckon traits that Klopp values in a keeper
If Karius doesn't get his shit together on defending crosses and the like, then I think we will end up with another keeper with a similar skillset but who can actually catch a cross.
As a by the way, is it just me or have teams stopped putting so much pressure on our keeper/ defense when they try to play out out from the back, since Karius came in.

I agree with Klopp's analysis on the defense he gave. We are not shit at defending - the opposition will score; and the same can be said of Southampton today against City; and also the recent game that took place been United and Stoke. For some reason they all seem to highlight our defensive errors more than most.

Delighted with the victory - I just wish we could put away more of those gazillion chances we seem to create - if only Suarez was still around !!! - he would have had 5 hatricks by now.

I'm also a little concerned by the subs bench. I find it odd that Ings and Grujic can't even make the bench.

Both players will obviously feature against Spurs in some capacity, but I find it hard to believe that Ings is not a better finisher than Divot. And Lucas is in his last, dismal year as a Liverpool player, and has no role to play unless all of our CBs are hit by a fucking comet, so why isn't Grujic at least on the bench?

Must be very demoralising for those two, seeing inferior players ahead of them.

Watched the game twice now and apart from the goal and one other cross we dealt with their aerial bombardment really really well. It was the only possible way they could have scored, however, compared to previous seasons it looks as if we are getting to grips with handling it. Matip must get a lot of the credit for this. What a horrible side West Brom are, must be great watching that pile of shite every week.

I hope Grujic proves his worth and sooner or later cements a place in this team. He came for a smal fee and could be a masterpurchase if he take a few steps. However I am not worried by having Lucas as a cool head in games against Pulis style of teams if we need him for some minutes. It is hard to predict who you need more and if you change the game or are comfortably up Grujic is a better option. He will get his chances and he will grab them. He showed in preseason that he can be a good signing!!

Only one can be the designated keeper. The other 'keeper' could stand on the goal but only use his body to try stop the ball. You'd then have problems arising from the 2nd player playing attackers on side. I'm sure some idiots have attempted it somewhere around the world.

That goalkeeper-swapping scenario was something I joked about before the season started. Not quite so funny any more.

Yeah i'm not sold on Karius at all but I'd keep him in the side. We can't go back to Mingolet. Karius might be having a bumpy start (a few flaps) but he could well over come this and prove his worth. If not, we will need to look for a new keeper AGAIN. But for now, he plays because Mingolet gave us the jitters and a lot more so than Karius.

Someone here said that just because Mignolet hasn't conceeded from a mistake this season doesn't mean we should play him until he does.
Starting to think that the same applies to Karius.

The main reason I want Mignolet to play against Spurs is because it's a cup game, it's basically "his turn".

Karius made 81 successful claims in the Bundesliga in 2015/16, completing 99 percent of his attempted catches, compared to Simon Mignolet‘s 74 claims, or 82 percent of his attempts, highlighting his quality.

I haven't warmed to Kairus at all though. I hope he impresses me soon as one big mistake and it could be game over for his confidence.
