Has he needed to ? He's either had no chance or not had to make a save !Question...has Karius made a tough save yet? Like the ones DeGea pulled against us.
More blame could be attached to the defenders on that corner for not even competing ..... and WBA were lucky as the ball fell very kindly indeed for them. What are you talking about? I only remember one missed one cross all game (the one that led to the corner that led to the goal). I remember another dangerous cross that was fizzed in with pace and he did well to punch it away. He also came off his line quickly a few times, something Mignolet would not dare to do. It's just bizarre how people are overreacting with Karius. Sure he's not perfect, but far from a disaster.
For the corner from which we conceded I think it was the right decision for the GK not to come out – the ball was curving away from the goal into a big crowd of players and there was a big chance of missing the ball or a weak punch. It was just one of those things – a Pulis team scoring from a set piece, that's their speciality, that's what they always do.
Hahaha! Karius a 4.
TIA gives him a 6,5. The Echo a 6.
None of them blames him for the goal. In fact not one bar some on this site have blamed him for the goal from what I've read.
Ahhh funny... The predictable ratings. Sooo predictable.
Anyway, enjoyed that win. Lovely 3 points.
And some words from our manager:
Klopp: "Who wants a clean sheet when you can get 3 points instead."
I don't know why you keep jumping to Karius' defense because he's new, people appreciate that he might need time to settle, but let's call a spade a spade. He's been horendous so far and he's made at least one mistake in every game he's played.
He wasn't at fault for the goal, but he made some really basic errors during the match. He flapped for one cross that should have resulted in a goal and he got lucky a few other times too.
I don't like to have to keep defending a player over as over and I don't want to seem like a Karius fanboy, however – can you be more specific about "a few other times" he "got lucky"? I got distracted for 2-3 minutes once during the game, maybe all those numerous horrible mistakes happened during that brief interruption? Because other than that I was watching the game very intently and I remember only 2 mistakes from Karius:
1) a sliced clearance/pass out of play
2) a misjudged cross that led to the corner that led to the goal. BTW if that's the incident you're referring to as "should have resulted in a goal," then I disagree – there was no angle to shoot directly on goal there, once Karius let the cross go (he didn't "flap" at it at all) he should have anticipated Rondon's cutback to smother the ball with softer hands, instead of deflecting it for the corner.

You bunch of miserable gets
It's quite strange - and yet entirely predictable - that some crybabies find it hard to accept an objective, correct summary and associated rating of players in a match.
We should give Karius an extra point because he's young, or new to the league?
Fuck that. He's been corrrectly summarised by the usual contributors who are mostly correct about everything.
Based on that performance. Like all the other ratings and comments are. For all the players
Of course, any fucking idiot is welcome to rate our players on what they think they might do, or should do, or possibly could one day, maybe.
Why not award us the Premiership title as well, while you're at it.
It's fairly obvious from watching him that's he's uncomfortable, that the defense are uncomfortable with him. He came for one cross and DID flap at it. The commentators went on about it for long enough after it happened too, so it didn't go unnoticed nor was it an overreaction. Like I said, he's made mistakes in every game. I did say he does need time, but we can only call it out for what it is, at the moment his performances have been shakey and he's made mistakes that Mignolet would have been crucifed for.
Did you think he had a good game? Do you think his performances have been good?
It certainly isnt the place to be if you want to enjoy a win.

Agreed. I also find it odd that people want to swap GKs again.
1) Karius hasnt really done anything to warrant getting dropped. Goals/dropped points etc
2) Ming has proved over the last 3 years that he isnt the answer
Just stick with the system and defensive set up that has contributed to us being joint first in the league.
You're boo hoo hooing like a 12 year old because lots of people are correctly saying Karius is a fucking calamity with high balls into the box, and is useless at catching crosses.
Which is all fact, on evidence so far, despite your persistence about his amazing skills at crosses in the Bundesliga. Which aren't true either.
I hope he does improve. If he doesn't, he'll be dropped and sold. But none of that means Mignolet is good enough either.
What part of the above is so upsetting to you?
I think having to read some of your observations are more upsetting in all honesty.

Mignolet is not going to improve. We know that.
Karius may improve, he may not, but to swap him for Mignolet would be a big mistake.
I'm also a little concerned by the subs bench. I find it odd that Ings and Grujic can't even make the bench.
Both players will obviously feature against Spurs in some capacity, but I find it hard to believe that Ings is not a better finisher than Divot. And Lucas is in his last, dismal year as a Liverpool player, and has no role to play unless all of our CBs are hit by a fucking comet, so why isn't Grujic at least on the bench?
Must be very demoralising for those two, seeing inferior players ahead of them.
It certainly isnt the place to be if you want to enjoy a win.
It's because he's a massive divSorry, why do you keep calling him Divot? I thought it's a typo but now I saw this for several posts in a row.
