A win! And against a Pulis team. Good three points, and some of the attacking football was superb to watch. Sadly, defensively there are still some huge questions, especially around the goalkeeper, because Karius - on the evidence so far - is a fucking clown.
The other obvious issue is how many chances we create, and waste. The lack of a quality striker and reliable finisher needs to be addressed. If Klopp doesn't trust Sturridge, then we desperately need to invest a large sum of money in a quality replacement. Obviously Origi is shit, and Firmino isn't a striker or a good finisher, so we are short in that department.
Karius is a fucking liability. Zero confidence, almost zero communication. Barely speaks with the defenders.Everyone played well, Karius was a slight worry.
Should have won about 4 or 5 -1 in the end but it became very nervous at the end.
Liverpool´s average goals per game so far this season is 2.22 vs. 1.22 conceded (goals for are bang on for a title winning team but a tad high in goals conceded where it should be just under 1.0) however when you factor in the quality of the opposition, having played five of the top six teams, then we will be pretty damn close if we maintain this for the season.I'd be interested to see our shots to goals ratio this season.
It seems to me, without using stats, that we're creating way more chances than last season, but scoring a lower ratio of them.
Last season we had a ratio of just under 22%, second only to Arsenal.
Today we had more than 20 shots & scored 2 goals. Let's than 10%.
Sorry but that is clearly wrong as he was all over them for large parts of the match. You can't expect any player to do it for 90 mins though.I think Mane has gone off the boil, after starting the season so well. Maybe that's a sign of the inconsistency we were worried about. The goal gave him a bit of a lift, but still there is a noticeable drop of energy compared to earlier in the season – he doesn't take players on as often or use his pace against a full-back. Still he is quite useful to the way we play and he is one of the best finishers in the squad, which is so important in a game like this.
Well, I found it.
I clearly know fuck all.

yup i'd start mignolet midweek, give him the opportunity to prove he deserves to be number 1Karius is a fucking liability. Zero confidence, almost zero communication. Barely speaks with the defenders.
Hesitates during set pieces. He's like a nervous wreck.
Can't believe I'm saying this but I hope Klopp gives Mignolet a chance midweek.
There's certainly some worries, some very strong ones, but a liability? Come on, let's not go overboard, he's not cost us any points yet, by the very definition he's not a liability, and I'm happy to give him a little more time.Karius is a fucking liability. Zero confidence, almost zero communication. Barely speaks with the defenders.

Yet if we continue to maintain that stat then we won't. It does seem to be an anomaly (one way or the other) !Incredible
and we're still leaking goals
To start with, I was against dropping Karius to avoid shredding his confidence. However, he's garbage. Can't read a cross to save his life and never seems to be in position. He actually looks like an outfield player that has been put in goal.
noQuestion...has Karius made a tough save yet? Like the ones DeGea pulled against us.
True he's not a disaster, but you could argue mignolet wasn't eitherWhat are you talking about? I only remember one missed one cross all game. I remember another dangerous cross that was fizzed in with pace and he did well to punch it away. It's just bizarre how people are overreacting with Karius. He's not perfect, but far from a disaster.
Thought that same thing earlier.Question...has Karius made a tough save yet? Like the ones DeGea pulled against us.
no
When that happens i'll be very interested. Mignolet does have the knack for brilliant saves, so karius has a lot to prove

Hes done nothing. And managed to fuck that up.

I guess you saw the latest one on one he fucking messed upPalace next week will be another test. In Zaha and Townsend they have genuine width and obv Benteke with a point to prove up front. Expect more of the same.
However, We could just just give Benteke a few one on ones to get Karius confidence up.
Damn shame...Yes. It cost a lad in my work £300
We run a comp where you pay £1 a week and pick 5 scorers. They all score and you win the pot. If no one gets 5 then it rolls over.
It was up to £300 last weekend. He picked Costa, Walcott, Wilson, Austin, Benteke.
Shame.
