Big game for the guys tonight. Most people expected us to get the square root of fuck all against city and arsenal so the expectation was low. But the next few games are different. We're expected to win these games and WBA wont come out and play like how arsenal and city did. They'll be happy to sit back, defend and hopefully nick something on the counter. Im really hoping sturridge makes it tonight. I really want us to have a proper go.

If your worried about my social approach to life itself, please stop doing so. I am old enough to take care of myself, and I am mature enough to have such issues adressed by the correct people if they do exist.. That people have opinions on us when we are struggling to build a gap between us and Stoke/WBA/Swansea that are not just rosy red positive is something you might have to live with. And yes I know that we have bought youngsters that need time to adapt/adjust/fit in (strike the one that doesnt suit) and we are a club in transition and we have a new young manager that will make us look like Barcelona when only his system works, and he has filled up the squad with players that have played for clubs like Reading and Swansea and do know this system. But if you look behind that (we are in february, not September) maybe, just maybe it is ok to point out that everything havent gone as planned or hoped. We collectively took a deep breath of relieve when we drew against the mighty Manchester City, but they being trashed by Southampton less than a week after put that game too into perspective. I am fucking worried on where we are going. And I am not worried on the basis of me being a miserable sod. I am doing it becuae there are quite a few teams having a substandard season and they are not within reach for us still.

You were whinging in September, too. In fact, you've been whinging from day one. That's just what you do.

Define day 1

None of Kenny's lot were guaranteed definite starters by the end of last season, nor at the beginning of Rodgers tenure either. Yet further down the line they've settled and are playing more, certainly Enrique and Henderson have grown this season anyway. The same might be said further down the careers of Allen and Borini. The thing that fucks everyone off is your stupid throwaway comment that 'no one' he's bought is a guaranteed starter, conveniently overlooking that Sturridge was only absent on the team sheet because he was doubtful and has, so far, been fucking excellent. Oh sorry, were you referring to 'fresh on English soil' Coutinho? Really? Don't be so fucking hysterical.

You moan for the sake of moaning, you do it every season, usually based on fuck all when asked to offer a valid reason, at the very least your reasoning is full of gaping holes.

We're points to the good on last season, of course there are negative points, particularly defensively, but it's gradually come together and the signs of progression are there, as we said in August though, (well most people with an inkling of nouse did), it will take time, patience and a degree of biting our tongues while we go through some poor spells. We've got a good, young attacking squad, with further additions in the Summer it could go a long way. Don't let that stop you whinging between May and August this year though, as per. Do you want to post a Hodgson comparison again?

I really hope their tactics are to sit back and defend. We have looked far more crative and adventurous of late so they'd struggle to keep us at bay.

A win tonight will be a massive step in the right direction. One thing is to play well away at the big clubs and get a few points another is to win the must win games at home during a rather decent run of games.

Momentum. Not somehting we've been used to for many a Season now.

A win tonight and our last four - including two of the most stern tests of the Season - would've given us 8 points on the trot.

Moan for the sake of moaning every season?

I dont remember moaning about much last season. I was critical to buying Downing yes and even more critical to playing him as often as we did. But on the whole I tought we had some very good games over the whole autumn which we did not get rewarded for, and that was tough luck more than bad play.

The Suarez saga created a string of different oppinions on here. I am aware that I fought his side, and I might have used strong words, but moaning? Nah, that was both sides of the line if so is the case. I can't even remember that I was moaning when we had a bad spell over xmas and into the spring. I saw behind those resultsand saw that our midfield suffered from the loss of Lucas, Enrique was played way to much in his first full season, and Maxi was played to little. The main set back was still the Fergie organized Suarez Ban.

The season before I probably moaned abit through, but that was during the autumn only.

But all in all I think we accept mediocre performances and poor management to easy. For 2-3 seasons in a row the CL places have been there for grabs due to other teams fucking it up. And we have not been anywhere near captilizing on this. And it pisses me off. We get smashed by a Villa that looses 8-0 against Chelsea net game. We stand no chance against a Stoke that looks poor after that and we are played off the park by both Mansfield and Oldham. Arsenal make us look like MK Dons, and against a pretty poor Man U we were not even close to getting even a draw. That is the progress we are claiming. We need to demand more. it is simply not good enough. We trust a manager that turns his cape and opinion after the wind, while he still believe he made Swansea the new Barcelona. It is strange times, and people bite their tounges while their are shafted from behind. What I have done is asked for what will happen and when will it happen under Rodgers, and noone know. Noone know what they expect and what they demand. Earlier Rodgers talked about passing City, and when I pointed out that it was bullshit you mentioned it was a media created quote. Now he is talking about 4th, and that on the back of a January that has been too unstable to call it a progress. Is it moaning to say so?

I hope the 3-0 hiding they gave us at the beginning of the season will be playing on the players minds and will motivate them to thrash them!

Is Assaidi back from ACN now? If so, do we think he might make bench/ line up depending on his performances there? His match fitness can't be questioned now that he has those games under his belt..

What are your expectations of Rodgers, Insig? And how do you feel he's failing to meet them?

To be honest I was puzzled and very unimpressed by the yankees when it came to the hunt for a new manager. Martinez seemed to be front man for a while, and Rodgers was clear on his view for the job; No DOF and No interview if others are in the hunt for the job. So in a way it seem like when offered he took the job basis a defiant belief that what had happened at Swansea was what it takes to lift Liverpool. My expectation and probably fear was that he is too unexperienced and would not succeed in making us any better than last season (and I know last season was to very different halves). I am then talking about the potential that we saw in the team the start of last season. My hope was that he was brave enough to not feel the pressure, and actually slowly correct what was wrong from last season, and not go for a total refurbishment. I did not for a minute believe that he could come in and apply some fancy tiki taka football and make us look like Barcelona. This was based on that even if Swansea was not very poor last season, they definately were no top 6 material.

Were has he succeeded and were did he fail? Ill put in views on both sides, which i actually have done throughout the season, well aware that you will only read the failures and claim I am moaning.

Failures:
To put it a bit bold: Rodgers ego has so far written out cheques that his body ain't able to cash in!
- He came with a clear definition on what was wrong with our club before he even met the squad. In his head certain players did not have what it take to progress, and the replacements he lined up (Allen, Gylfi, Dempsey, Borini) is in my mind not exactly filled with top 6 experience or potential. Hendo, Downing, Shelvey and Enrique were all on a public fuck off list. Even if I supported to offload Downing, I don't agree on the over cocky "I know bettet than Kenny" approach regarding these players.
- The transfers he has brought in has been failures all of them bar Sturridge. He has given Allen to much time, and he has praised him when he has publicly slaughtered others. Sahin was a high profiel signing which he clearly had no strategy for. Borini came in and left Carroll in the cold without producing anything. Assaidi brought in as a proper winger in contrast to Downing. The Dempsey hunt left me baffled as well.
- He has probably a sort of system in his mind somewere. This is something he must have sold in to the owners. This system took Reading to new hights and put Swansea in top half with limited resources. With a better squad than Swansea he has failed to implement the system, and he has failed to get the best out of our Key Players bar Suarez.
- On a more personal note (I feel this is a failure by him) he has shown himself as a poor tactician in game after game by getting both his starting line up and subs wrong, forcing him to shuffle around his team often before half time. To me he has failed to play his squad to the strengths and by that also placed us in a worse position than we should be.

Successes:
- We have managed to get down the wage bill, and shipped out players that probably had fullfilled their potential by now. I like Maxi and Kuyt as players and role models, but I feel they would only become more unefficient in the seasons to come. I believe we must have a more sound cost versus income ratio now.
- He has brought Sterling and Suso through to the first team, which will be valuable to us in the future. However I think he has played them both far to much, and failed to give them proper rest when they obviously need it.
- He got us through a decent group in Europe, which will give us something to fight for in the last part of the season.

The Baggies got off to a flyer and are still doing relatively well, placed just behind us, a win tonight will see us move 5 points clear of them. A few matches into a very difficult initial fixture list a number of cynics on here were saying we picked the wrong manager. I don't believe we did, but should we have stuck with Steve Clarke?

regards

God you're miaerable

I stopped reading when you said shelvey was on the fuck off list. He wasn't and never has been. Rodgers has said in the past that shelvey is very important on the long term.

I glimpsed at other parts and I was disgusted when you said all his signings bar sturridge were a failure. You're talking agenda driven shite

We get it, you don't like rodgers

Seriously, stop being miserable.

Shelvey was available for loan in the summer. Period.
