I think you'll find that no manager would agree to take on a job if they cant implement their approach and tactics.
If your argument is that he shouldnt have made the changes or implemented his strategy and rather should have changed things slowly - I think you would have found out that it would fail big time.
A new manager has to be allowed to make the changes he feels neccessary or else its pointless.

There is a lot of talk about Assaidi and Sahin not being Rodgers signings, but rather something Jen Chang convinced the owners would be a good move. Several journos said after he left that Rodgers now would have a much easier way of getting in his signings as Chang made a lot of noise internally.
Regardless of thats true or not every signing we've made are young players that needs to be given more than 5 months to prove themselves.

I'm amazed that you cant see any progress. It shocks me tbh and it makes me think all this is an agenda against Rodgers.

He's made some mistakes, but we play some great football and have a young talented squad that will only get better. Its promising and exciting.

As I've said before, other fans seem to be more excited about whats happening at Liverpool than some of our own fans. And is probably because of a quick fix mentality and living in the past.

We played a very good pass and move football for the remainer of the season Kenny took over as well as up to the Suarez case took off around xmas. We let the ball move and we created more than most other teams. We had a set back from xmas and out the rest of the season (still we went to Wembley 3 times). We couldn't find the flow in our game and we looked tired as a team. Still there was something to build on.

And of course you are supopose to change things when you come in. But changing to Allen and Sigurdsson because they got Swansea to a 10th place is hardly a way forward. Publicly put Kennys signing in the shop window is also a bit brave. And especially since they are playing today, something Rodgers signing don't, it looks plain stupid to say we would have been a big failure to change things slowly.

Ropdgers came in with ideas on who is good enough even before the first training. That is never a sound approach. It might be that we were not good enough as a team, but individually there were more internationals than he ever had before, and to have a good look at them would have been a humble approach to us as a club. I am not sure Rodgers realized how big this challenge was, and I am not sure he still does.

And please don't tell me that you believe for a second that the owners would listen to the media contact on who they were to sign!

I wouldnt be surprised in the slightest. Guess who Jen Chang suggested on twitter that we should sign before he started working for us, several times aswell. Assaidi and Sahin...

Wow. Never knew that. Hard to imagine that the owners got so screwed by this guy... is it the worst employment ever by Liverpool, incl Woy?

3 points tonight would be welcome challenge. I'd take winning ugly. WBA will come ready for a smash and grab.

Let's do this.

Rumoured team:

Reina
Johnson Carra Agger Enrique
Gerrard Lucas Henderson
Downing Suarez Shelvey

Oh my, that is depressing. A draw it is then...

Nah. We will win this one comfortably. We have been strong at home, and we have been very good when we have got games into our path. WBA is in worse form, and if make them chase the ball we will run riot.

I am very Optimistic!!!

To be honest I was puzzled and very unimpressed by the yankees when it came to the hunt for a new manager. Martinez seemed to be front man for a while, and Rodgers was clear on his view for the job; No DOF and No interview if others are in the hunt for the job. So in a way it seem like when offered he took the job basis a defiant belief that what had happened at Swansea was what it takes to lift Liverpool. My expectation and probably fear was that he is too unexperienced and would not succeed in making us any better than last season (and I know last season was to very different halves). I am then talking about the potential that we saw in the team the start of last season. My hope was that he was brave enough to not feel the pressure, and actually slowly correct what was wrong from last season, and not go for a total refurbishment. I did not for a minute believe that he could come in and apply some fancy Liverpool Groove football and make us look like Barcelona. This was based on that even if Swansea was not very poor last season, they definately were no top 6 material.

Were has he succeeded and were did he fail? Ill put in views on both sides, which i actually have done throughout the season, well aware that you will only read the failures and claim I am moaning.

Failures:
To put it a bit bold: Rodgers ego has so far written out cheques that his body ain't able to cash in!
- He came with a clear definition on what was wrong with our club before he even met the squad. In his head certain players did not have what it take to progress, and the replacements he lined up (Allen, Gylfi, Dempsey, Borini) is in my mind not exactly filled with top 6 experience or potential. Hendo, Downing, Shelvey and Enrique were all on a public fuck off list. Even if I supported to offload Downing, I don't agree on the over cocky "I know bettet than Kenny" approach regarding these players.
- The transfers he has brought in has been failures all of them bar Sturridge. He has given Allen to much time, and he has praised him when he has publicly slaughtered others. Şahin was a high profiel signing which he clearly had no strategy for. Borini came in and left Carroll in the cold without producing anything. Assaidi brought in as a proper winger in contrast to Downing. The Dempsey hunt left me baffled as well.
- He has probably a sort of system in his mind somewere. This is something he must have sold in to the owners. This system took Reading to new hights and put Swansea in top half with limited resources. With a better squad than Swansea he has failed to implement the system, and he has failed to get the best out of our Key Players bar Suarez.
- On a more personal note (I feel this is a failure by him) he has shown himself as a poor tactician in game after game by getting both his starting line up and subs wrong, forcing him to shuffle around his team often before half time. To me he has failed to play his squad to the strengths and by that also placed us in a worse position than we should be.

Successes:
- We have managed to get down the wage bill, and shipped out players that probably had fullfilled their potential by now. I like Maxi and Kuyt as players and role models, but I feel they would only become more unefficient in the seasons to come. I believe we must have a more sound cost versus income ratio now.
- He has brought Sterling and Suso through to the first team, which will be valuable to us in the future. However I think he has played them both far to much, and failed to give them proper rest when they obviously need it.
- He got us through a decent group in Europe, which will give us something to fight for in the last part of the season.

The vast majority of that is speculative at best. Besides the fact that you haven't really answered the question. I was hoping for more of a summary than the extended, brain fart version. Here, you did a much better job of answering it in the "So what does Rodgers have to do?" thread when Rodgers first arrived.

Allow me:
Develope himself, learn about playing away in Europe, give youngsters a decent run and steady the sship to a decent top half finish!

Now, if I hadn't had to watch you froth at the mouth for the last 8 months, I might assume that was the post of a reasonable human being. What's more, I think it's fair to say that Rodgers looks on course to achieve all of the above.

Which really begs the question: What the fuck is going on in your head? When did you lose all perspective and become a raving lunatic? Why are you so wrist-slittingly negative? And above all, what makes you feel you can be so disparaging of a manager in his first season at a big club - a club you claim to support - despite the fact that he appears to be meeting all of your initial expectations, as outline above?

Ah. Fuck off Del. When did you become the one to tell me what i can think and what i am not allowed to think? And that cocky "claim to support" line doesn't go well with me. Are you a better supoorter than me?

And of course he will do all that! That bar is lower than low. It is pretty obvious that even Roy fucking Hodgson could have done that. Is that ok? Well I don't think it is And that is why ask; When can we demand anything from us. When can we expect anything. Because it seem like if your not happy being outplayed by oldham or man U your daft and no supporter. So when is it ok to expect some something that A: Shows we have made proper progress and B: Rodgers can sign players (and 1 in 6 is not good enough proof is it?)

I can't see that it make me a bad fan. I am dreaming of those 3 points every fucking time we run out there, and I keep on constantly getting showed in my face that we are not good enough. Still i read about how fantastic we are. Draw against a mentally unstable City is supposed to proove that we are in route for top four.

Insig. What you said when Rodgers arrived and what you are saying now are so diverse you could drop an atom bottom in the chasm and nobody would hear it.

That aside you have become one of the most miserable / negative posters I've ever seen (from KT thru the whole run of 6CM). 2 or 3 years ago you weren't like this at all (you were fun !) and (without in ANY way wishing to pry or be too suggestive) I think that possibly something has happened in your personal life to turn you into so depressive a sourpuss because I sincerely doubt that football alone could do it.

Hmmm I did get married...

Who's the ref for this one? With cloggers like Olsen in their team we need a ref to get on top of the game, if we have a lenient ref allowing a very physical approach from wba it will make it a very difficult game for us to win

That Olsson guy is a true prick. Too bad we dont have Sturridge to give him a run for his money!

Loan is hardly the fuck off list

And also, considering he started a decent number of games at he beginning of the season, I think you're being OTT

Without taking sides (I haven't read your arguement): beeing in the loan list at LFC is the same as beeing in the fuck off list.

Very true in the past, but considering rodgers was full of praise for shelvey and their little chat in Being Liverpool, i don't think its necessarily true any more
