Our midfield definitely has a creativity problem. Keita is really the one who can add so, so much more when he's settled and on form. 17 goals and 15 assists in 2 seasons for Leipzig – imagine the impact these types of numbers would have here.

According to Dominic King, Firmino is out for tomorrows game but could be available for the Everton game.

Central mid had a very good start to the season. Milner and Wijnaldum benefitted from not playing the world cup I Guess and Keita had two very good games in West Ham and C Palace. Hendo eventually came in to help Keita adjust to the hectic tempo and we have struggled a little throughout the Autumn to find a good rythm in CM. We have changed personnel and huffed and puffed With New People in new roles constantly. Now it is the time to settle a first Choice midfield and let them roam together.. They can handle the program going forward.

Naby Keita and Trent Alexander-Arnold are both set for recalls as Jurgen Klopp prepares to ring the changes for Liverpool's Premier League showdown with Watford at Anfield.

Guinea international Keita is expected to be restored to the Reds' midfield on Wednesday night after being an unused substitute in Sunday's dour stalemate with Manchester United.

Klopp explained that he went with a midfield trio of captain Jordan Henderson, Fabinho and Gini Wijnaldum at Old Trafford as a result of United's “physical strength” and “the need to be mature in these games”.

However, seventh placed Watford will provide a different type of test and Keita's freshness and ability to provide a creative spark will be important after the Reds fired blanks against both Bayern Munich and United.

Alexander-Arnold should also be restored to the starting line up at right-back after Klopp opted to play James Milner there at the weekend.

The Reds boss insisted he was concerned about the prospect of the 20-year-old Academy graduate playing three games in the space of a week so soon after recovering from a knee problem.

However, Liverpool sorely missed Alexander-Arnold's energy and quality deliveries from wide areas with Milner struggling to have any impact in the final third.

Alexander-Arnold scored in the 3-0 win Liverpool enjoyed over Watford at Vicarage Road back in November.

Klopp must also decide how best to cope without striker Roberto Firmino, who is highly unlikely to feature due to an ankle injury

From the echo.

I think that was Ryan wasn't it? Claiming he'd be a superstar or something. I don't remember it though, just remember him being ripped about it since.
Yup, he made a comment about Hayden Mullins being good OVER A DECADE AGO

I wonder if any journo will ask Pelligrini if he intends to throw his game against Citeh 'to help his old team win the league'. A team that, by the way, sacked the clown.

Unfortunately Everton winning tonight loads the pressure on us for tomorrow. If they had failed to get 3 points we would have been crowned Merseyside champions again, but as it stands we now need a point from tomorrow to retain the honour.

This will cheer you all up

Without Keita I'd be tempted to play Origi and put Shaqiri in midfield.

Matip
VVD
Robbo
Fabinho
Milner
Shaqiri
Origi
Salah
Mane

Is Keita confirmed as out?!

Regardless, I'd play Origi in the front three, with Keita or Shaq behind. I really hope Keita can play though, we need a player who can break forwards from midfield, & there's little chance Chamberlain will be near to the level we need for a number of games after his return, whenever that may be.

Isn't Origi our version of Lukaku?

Shaqiri behind a front 3 or Salah origi and mane

Fabinho and Gini as the base

If keita is fit, start him instead of gini

That's a good shout actually, cos Gini was strapped the other day, which isnt like him at all, & he's had very little rest compared to any of the other midfielders if memory serves.

Watford's biggest strength is their midfield, they're very good, they have strength & balance there & loads of running in them. They're a decent passing side as well.
