So we won't get to see him play for us ever again. Bad times
That's not necessarily the case.
Sorry i can't see him staying here if we finish 6th or 7th in the league.
I can, especially now the yanks have been given a stay of execution.
You what?
This makes no sense.

Unless......hmmm.....you don't know what "stay of execution" means?
sure I do.
basically if the deadline for the loan was the same i.e. july then in a deparate attempt to hold onto the club they (G&H) could have sold torres and gerrard to raise a 100m but now that the loan deadline has been pushed back by 9 months there is no immediate need for them to find the fee to refinance the loan.

I think the post you originally responded to was about the chances of Torres wanting to stay after a poor season and the original poster took a negative view on that...i.e the poster thought that it was a very slim chance, and that Torres would want to leave because we have had a poor season.

That may be an over pessimistic stand point, and it may well turn out that Torres is more willing to give us one more chance, but i simply fail to see how the owners, who are seen as the main culprits for our poor season, getting a stay of execution is going to change his opinion from leaving the club to not leaving the club. Which is what you meant in your earlier post....

Then in your explanation, you are talking about the owners trying to sell Torres to cover for debt.....that is a different issue, from Torres wanting to leave. Or am i getting this completely wrong?

What is going on here? I'm often confused after reading most of your posts.... we have got some communication problem sweetheart. We need to work on that.

I thought he was talking about finishing outside the top 4 would force us to sell, so I replied - 'I can, especially now the yanks have been given a stay of execution.'

reading whitey's remark again he is obviously talking about torres' desire to stay with us outside of the CL. I don't don't think he'll go but TWO seasons outside of the CL and he'll be off, he left AM because they were also rans.

Perhaps, but it took him more than two seasons to get to that point. I don't think Torres will leave us until quite a bit later in his career, not of his own accord anyway.

Liverpool boost as Fernando Torres told rest could be enough to make him fit for trip 'home' to Atletico Madrid

Fernando Torres could yet get his dream of a homecoming match at Atletico Madrid after he was advised five-days rest would be enough to see him return to fitness.

The Liverpool striker, who moved to Anfield from his hometown club in 2007, is suffering with a recurrence of a knee injury which kept him sidelined for than a month earlier in the year.

But Spanish knee specialist Ramon Cugat has revealed there is no added cause for concern despite the striker missing Sunday's goalles draw with Fulham.
Liverpool's Fernando Torres

Flying high: Fernando Torres could get the chance to face his former club

Cugat said: 'The problem is not serious but he needs to stop and rest to avoid more
risk because it's the same knee on which he had surgery in January.

'But in normal circumstances, he could be ready to play next week, depending on how it settles down. The decision is now up to Liverpool's medical staff and the manager.'

If the timescale is correct Torres should return to training on Sunday and could even face West Ham on on Monday.

However, he is doesn't want to rush back and potentially jeopardise his chances of appearing at the World Cup.

The Spanish Football Federation are thought to be monitoring the situation closely.

It would be the second time the player has missed out on the chance to take to the turf at his former home after he missed the Champions League clash between the sides in 2008, again through injury.

God, I hope this Aussie Doctor sorts Fernando out.

Despite all the doom and gloom, If Torres played every league game and we bought well this summer, we really could bounce straight back up and challenge for the league.

A fit Fernando changes everything.
