Injury Updates 2024/5

Gomez to step in and step up

Guess we'll have to make something out title winning defence

Easy to say that now though isn't it?

Clearly this is all on Arne and he hasn't a fucking clue what he's doing otherwise he'd have foreseen this coming 10-15mins before it did and have done something about it.

This is frustrating for us all but let's not sit and pretend subbing off CB's after 70-80mins to pre-empt an injury is a regularity in football.
Yeah, I definitely said Arne doesn’t have a clue, didn’t I?

Fwiw, I said it to my son repeatedly after we’d gone 2-0 up (ie. Why the fuck are we not taking Grav plus one of Konate / VVD off).

We’re at the start of a relentless run of tough games, were 2-0 up against a beaten side, and have City on Sunday.

Yes we could have made use of our 5 subs and at the very least protected the energy of our key players. No, that doesn’t mean the injury was predictable or I think Slot is useless…

The only good thing about this is that Konate was Slot's second choice CB after Ronald QMan.

JoGo would be the favourite to come back in after a strong game against Villa but I reckon Ronald QMan will get the nod.

Wasn't everyone sucking off Quansah at some point? Saying he was first choice ahead of Konate?

And Jo Go is criminally underrated isn't he?

Well this is what they're here for. Go on then boys. Play yourselves into the first team. Earn that PL medal*!

(*runner ups get a medal too right?)

We only have 5 defenders for the next few weeks. Any youths good enough, at least for the bench?

Yep, I was one. We all knew before the season started Jota and Konate would face lengthy layoffs If we knew that then surely Slot did too and improved on Gomez's and Quansah's weaknesses

Both Jota and Konate got injuries because people fell on them. Not because they pulled muscles or whatever. It’s kind of bizarre

The result is the same. You didn't think Konate would seriously go the whole season without a setback did you? So Quansah and Gomez have an opportunity to get ahead and prove Slot a selection nightmare

Don't quite understand what I'm looking at here, as there's no fucking way Alisson is fatigued
Or Trent. The bugger just saunters around the place. Maybe he's knackered from thinking too much about the s u n in Madrid next season.
