I think last night showed that his best position for us could be in that very advanced LB come LWB position which comes with the tiki taki style. It brings the best out of his crosses and allows him to use his pace to run at fullbacks occasionally, which I think works better for him than being expected to do it every time, also he actually seems quite good at defending, I thought he did great in shielding the ball out a few times, his positioning was a bit weak, but that will come with experience of the position. I'd like to see more of this, nice spot to all those that called this a few weeks back!

Having been talked up by Rodger's only to repay him with an utterly pathetic performance against West Brom, I think he's done well the boss has. He clearly spent Saturday night lying awake in his bed until the early hours, thinking and worrying about how to get himself out of this fuck up. In the end he's come up with a genius solution.

Rodgers on Downing: I think left back is a position Downing can play. The modern day full back are transformed wingers, Like Jordi Alba

No. But it is synonymous to his actual thoughts. He's a very thoughtful person. He has thoughts on a regular basis.

Fair play to Rodgers for trying to salvage something out of this deal, but are we now looking at one of theist expensive full backs in the history of football?

His best position for us is somewhere far away from Liverpool playing for another team.

Rodgers biggest issue at Swansea (bar his lack of money) was that he had shite full-backs. Rangel was balls, and Taylor's not good enough. They were fortunate enough that Dyer and Sinclair ahead of them were very very good.

Bar Glenjo, he's got the same mess here. We have poor full-backs, and it hurts us badly. Our wide forwards in the 4-3-3 were isolated last week and meant they had to beat 2 players. Sorting out left-back is a major priority for Rodgers.

You reckon Downing could do it for him? I'm just not sure about his game intelligence as a defender..
