Would they come?

7th in the league, no CL and we would've just sold 3 of our 4 world class players.

Toure - interest from Arsenal/Chelsea
Cole - Spurs/Arsenal
Di Maria - Almost every top club
Benzema - from Real to fighting for 4th? Plus if he's offloaded Utd will surely be back in for him.

If we sold Gerrard, Torres and Masher I don't see us replacing them with 'topshelf' quality.
We might get lucky with some quality players who want to play for us - Turan, Kjaer (sp), but i wouldn't see us challenging any time soon.

We should set up sting operations on all of them and get photos of them in compromising positions. Then blackmail them to sign for us.

Sorted.

Daily Mail said:
Barcelona are ready to renew their interest in Liverpool midfielder Javier Mascherano but it could yet be hindered by their move for Arsenal's Cesc Fabregas.
Barca courted Mascherano a year ago and their need is greater now with defensive midfielder Yaya Toure destined to leave - with Chelsea among his admirers.
However, they know that Liverpool will be looking at close to £30million for the 25-year-old Argentina captain and that will put enormous strain on their budget as even though Toure is expected to command £20m, Arsenal would want more than £40m for Fabregas.

Liverpool also have interest from Chelsea in Mascherano but do not want to sell to Premier League rivals and accept Mascherano's sale may be the easiest solution to their financial troubles

Masch is surely worth more than 30 million with how much he has improved since being with us.

He's a defensive midfielder who never scores goals, or creates chances. Those players can't help you win matches. Only make the chances of losing them lower.

There's a perceived limit to how much they are worth, and around £30m would appear to be the aboslute maximum.

I doubt anyone would spend more than that on Masher, even if he is one of the best at it.

Reds and Hammers in race for Opare
Tuesday 1st June 2010 10:40

Liverpool and West Ham are believed to be among a host of European clubs tracking Real Madrid's Ghana starlet Daniel Opare.

Opare is regarded as one of Africa's brightest talents and was spotted by Real early on as he moved to the Spanish capital in 2007.

The Ghana youngster was tipped to make the breakthrough from their Castilla side last term, but injury hampered his progress.

Now fully fit, the versatile full-back, who can also play anywhere in midfield, is now set to be allowed to move on loan next season.

This has alerted a string of clubs from across Europe, with England very much a potential destination with both Liverpool and West Ham understood to be keen on taking him.

Also keen to snap him up are the likes of Lyon, PSV Eindhoven, Club Brugge, Buraspor and Steve McClaren's Wolfsburg.

The player's representative Chris Nathaniel has confirmedn that interest in Opare was significant.

"Daniel is fully fit again now and is ready to play next season," he told skysports.com. "Of course his injury means he will not be considered for Real's first-team but he hopes a spell on loan somewhere could help him come to the attention of Jose Mourinho.

"With that in mind, Daniel is now considering his options carefully as he has a number of options and he is already looking forward to pre-season training - wherever that may be."

Joe Cole has already agreed to leave Chelsea, says Harry Redknapp

• Midfielder out of contract at Stamford Bridge this summer
• Tottenham manager insists he will not be signing player
Press Association guardian.co.uk, Tuesday 1 June 2010 20.50 BST

The Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp believes Joe Cole has already agreed a free transfer away from Chelsea.

The 28-year-old, named today in England's 23-man squad for the World Cup, is out of contract at Stamford Bridge this summer and has been linked with a number of clubs, including Spurs and Manchester United. But Redknapp, Cole's old manager at West Ham, said he would not be heading to White Hart Lane.

"It looks to me someone's going to make a great free transfer, if he doesn't stay at Chelsea," Redknapp said. "I genuinely don't know who that is. I don't think it's going to be Tottenham. I've got a feeling, I may be wrong, that he's already agreed a deal with someone, and it's not Tottenham.

"I'm not saying if he hadn't agreed a deal with someone and he was available and didn't stay at Chelsea that we wouldn't be interested. I'm a big fan of Joe's, but the feedback we've had is that he might well have already done something."

Cole struggled with injury for large parts of last season and on his return to fitness was often overlooked by the Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti.

I think its Utd.
[/quote]

There was a United rumour last month, although Gerrard was singing his praises recently.

I hope it's us, depending on the wages.

Do United really need him now Nani's on song?

I hope its us. Although, it would make me question his sanity.

So, Arsenal.

When's Kalou's contract up? I thought he was Arsenal bound as well.

Real Madrid Move For Liverpool Star Steven Gerrard
By Luis Mira
Jun 2, 2010 7:06:00 AM

Real Madrid have set their focus on signing Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard, according to news daily Marca.
New Madrid boss Jose Mourinho is a known admirer of the England international's qualities, having tried to sign him during his time at the Chelsea helm.

The self-proclaimed Special One is scouring the market for players to add to his side as he looks to guide the Merengues to their first Champions League trophy since 2002.

Marca indicates that manager Rafael Benitez's stay at Anfield could induce Gerrard's departure from the Reds, whom he has represented his entire career.

The Spanish news daily also claims that Liverpool, who finished seventh in the Premier League, are in serious need of cash to buy new players in the summer.

At least we'll stop being linked to centre backs now that Rafa looks to have gone.

He can bring in Okaka on loan if he likes.

Or convince Murphy back.

Not arsed about the rest of the Fulham squad. Hangeland has signed a new contract, which probably makes him too expensive.
