The Hodgson IN thread

If Roy just goes in there and picks Lampard, Gerrard, Terry, Rio, Cole ETC then he deserves all the stick he will get. Hopefully he watched the last world cup and realises they cannot play effectively together.

He will get some time from the fans if he picks adventurously and trys to ditch the boring safe tag he has

Oh that definately would NOT be my pick Fox.
Hart
Cole
Cahill
Jones
Walker

Parker
Gerrard

Walcott
Young
Johnson

Carroll

Its missing Rooney and Wilshere which is a massive shame.
Its still only about the 8th best team there so even if the Ghost of Ramsay was in charge we'd do well to get out of the group.

Dunno about that team tbh mate. Jones at CB? He's looked well out of his depth there.

I still think Ferdinand is England's best centre half and i'd partner him with Lescott who's been a beast for City this season.

That looks good to me, replacing out Johnson with Rooney when he's back. I'd even be tempted to have Lampard in there instead of him. I'm not sure on Carroll mind, but who's better?

The press will slate Carroll if he is included, Sturridge and Welbeck play for fashionable clubs now so will get the nod. Does Roy Like the Crouchy???

If Woy is smart (I'm tempted to finish this right here), he should bring in an ex-player who can command a bit of respect to act as a link with the squad. Digger would be great but anyone rather than Stuart Pearce.

In lieu of bringing out a bulldog in a pair of union jack shorts, Pearce is probably the closest thing the FA have in terms of a hackneyed mascot.

Woy Hodgson managing an England team at a major championship with Andy Carroll in the starting 11.

It's like all my wildest dreams come true.

YOU CUNTS HAVE TURNED INTO IRELAND! FUCKING LOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!

Personally, I think England are vastly overrated but they're not that shit that Carroll would get in the team.

Kin ell.

Ryan, would it not be a bad thing if England were more like Ireland?

They might start punching above their weight

Mmm, I just really hate the cunt. Baines hasn't been all that this season either so I guess i'd have to put Cole in there.

On his day Cole is still the best left back on earth. Like last week in the nou camp.

i just can't believe they can't do any better. The home of football, and a midtable mediocrity manages the national team. Cringeworthy

Wellbeck's not good enough as a finisher to play up front on his own. His movement and all round play is good but his finishing is poor.

Gerrard's is (or at least was) pretty good though, he's the best replacement i can think of for Rooney in the first two games.

Given Woys trackrecord as a manager, I think its pretty safe to say that it will be an uninspiring ageing England side.

But he does well with mid table sides, and England currently are one.

England fans will miss Capello though, I'll give it 2-3 games before the moaning starts.

They should bring in Paddy Barclay to play the Phil Neal "Yes Boss!" role:
he could be Boswell to Woy's Johnson.

Can't agree with that. He's the best young all round forward in the game and can play any role. He's 100 million times the footballer that big fucking lump Carroll is.
