Fulham FC can confirm, that following an approach from The Football Association, Ray Lewington will join the recently appointed England Manager, Roy Hodgson as his assistant.

Ray will join the England camp at the end of the current Premier League season, and remain with them for the duration of this summer's European competition.

We wish Ray, Roy and of course the England Team every success.
 
Compared to Redknapp being the manager. There could be a point there, England personnel don't seem to quite fit the system he plays.

I'm pretty sure he'll get them to the quarters, then declare it as an amazing achievement.

He's essentially just an old English cappello

It wouldn't surprise me one bit to learn that that's exactly what the FA had in mind when they chose him - "We know we're sh!t, so let's appoint somebody who will always try and manage expectations downwards, 'coz that's how he rolls."

Savage earns his pocket money from broadcasting now, so he's going to peddle that rubbish because he knows it's the media's chosen line.
 
Alan Shearer was noncommittal yesterday at the BBC Euro 2012 launch over the chances of him being part of Roy Hodgson's backroom staff. It was while Shearer was on BBC business working alongside Hodgson at the Beeb's Cape Town studio during the 2010 World Cup that serious discussions took place about the pair linking up the following season at Liverpool.
