Administration is a long way off.

But it's hard not to notice how their net spends dropped immediately once the Glazers took over. Fergie admitted this week that he wasn't really certain of signing anyone this summer but was keeping tabs on a few players.

It'll be interesting to see what their net spend is this summer.
Now you're interested in net spend??
When have I not been interested in it ?

Berbaflop is also the leading assist provider in the Premiership with 10.

Denilson has 9, whats your point

When you spent endless threads discussing Rafa's spending, concentrating on his gross spend, and dismissing everyone who said net spend is more important?

Unless you've "allowed" net spend in the last year, as the figures now suit your argument. I'm not sure, haven't been on that much to know.

Every time I mentioned how Rafa has outspent everyone bar Chelsea in his time here I was referring to net spend. (And I've mentioned that a lot)

I don't really see what you're getting at though ?

Is it that you're saying if he gross spends 45 on shite, it's okay because it's only a 25m net spend on shite ? Cos that's teh sort of arguments I remember having.

Doesn't matter, I was only joking. Just thought it was a little ironic after all the arguments between net and gross spend last summer.

They both have their uses.

I just don't see the point in judging our signings based on net spends.

Ah anyway, didn't really mean to get into it, just thought it was a little ironic.

Level some specifics at me Gerry.

There's nothing ironic about using the correct information at the right time.

Yes, thank God 'Berbaflop' put and end to it, seeing as they are, once again, top of the league and in the CL final

You clattering ubermong
So then genius you think they are playing the same free flowing attacking football as last year? As much as I hate them i could not begrudge them the success less year as they were sublime to watch, this year I feel they have been comparatively boring. Do you not agree? That was my point.
Doubt they're too bothered tho.

Oh yeah I agree but i.e Denilson got most from corners. My point is Berba cannot be considered a success (not for that money) and I believe he has digressed Man Utd style and entertainment value. I believe he is a class act but not what they needed, they guy never gives the ball away, however he takes too long to give it away to a teammate which seems to erk on them when they are trying to break.

United hold Tevez talks
Fergie claims Argentine has been offered terms at Old Trafford

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has claimed that Carlos Tevez has been offered a permanent deal at Old Trafford.

The Argentina star's two-year loan with the defending Premier League and European champions is due to expire at the end of the season and he has been linked with a move to Chelsea, Liverpool or Manchester City.

But Ferguson has always maintained that he is keen to keep the 25-year-old in his attacking armoury, and the Scot has stated that chief executive David Gill is working to push a deal through.

After watching substitute Tevez - who is owned by Media Sports Investment - score United's equaliser as they came from behind to win 2-1 at Wigan on Wednesday, the Red Devils boss has said that the forward has been offered terms.

"He is a fantastic little player. He knows I want him to stay," Ferguson told Sky Sports 1 when asked about the former West Ham player, who has been rumoured to be unhappy with a lack of first-team football with the Red Devils.

Problem
"I have had a chat with him today. David Gill has had some meetings today and it has progressed, I'm sure, further.

"We hope we get what we want to get. I'm sorry to have to keep on with this all the time, but it has never changed."

Ferguson believes that the stumbling block in a permanent deal has been the fact that business is being conducted with Media Sports Investment.

"We are not negotiating with a football club, that is the problem," he added.

"I think Carlos himself is okay. I think the terms he has been offered are good."

Was anyone watching SSN after the match?
They reported what Ferguson had said, about Tevez being offered terms.
Then they brought that creep Kia on and he flat denied it, he contradicted everything that Ferguson said.

He say there cannot be any offer to Tevez because EVERYTHING was agreed two years ago.
The transfer fee, the agents fees, the players personal terms. United have signed a contract agreeing to this so are not in a position to haggle, according to Kia anyway.

Interesting.

We should hire Kia to do our transfer dealings. Him and that Aulas fella at Lyon seem to get every penny out of clubs.

Yeah, I saw this too.

Seems Utd want him but don't wanna pay the ridiculous, yet clever, deal that was arranged at the start of the loan period. Utd have made an offer, but less than what they principally agreed to two years ago, which Kia won't accept.

Utd are snookered.

Be even funnier of we slide in there in scoop him for a fraction of the price that they are asking Utd for.

Will be LOLaparties all round.

Exactly. The 32 million (rumoured) transfer fee is agreed with MSL.
We could pick Tevez up for a good bit less than that, we have had dealings with MSL in the past through the Mascherano deal so hopefully the lines of communication stayed open.

Just like Cantona help Leeds to the title in 92 the signed for the runners up and then helped to make them champions!!!!

United put their lawyers on to find a solution for getting Tevez for free.. That after they signed a deal to pay a certain sum for him. Digsuting behaviour by a disgusting club!

Talk of them looking for a way to get him on a bosman. Clever.

I wonder if Tevez himself would play ball with them over that. For one thing he may not want to, and for another there may well be some sort of agreement in place between him and MSL which would prevent him from doing so anyway.

Agreed. He might well see it as no more than the lesser of two evils, but I reckon the upshot would be as you describe.

For all his slimey credentials, Kia looks to be as sharp as a tack.
He's not going to be sloppy enough to leave a loop hole that would have him miss out 30 million great British pounds.

I wonder how much he bought Tevez and Mascherano for??
He'll turn nearly £50 million if the Tevez deal goes through with United.
Not too shabby at all.
