Hope Brendan is bold with this guy and plays him CM in some of our home games.

He has great intelligence and backs himself in the way he plays.

Would be a crying shame to see him fade out like Suso did!

I like Tex. I hope he's in the squad and gets some sub appearances and is maybe used in cups and the EL (though I'm not sure how large a squad is permitted to be named, which might exclude him).

Just give him a chance and take it from there. If he impresses, keep giving him chances. I don't want a pre-planned cup game schedule for him - that tells him what targets to have. Tell him to make his mark. He should be a proper member of the first team squad midway through the season as far as I'm concerned.

I like him and it is a shame his injury prevented him from shining at the U21s as he was supposed to be Portugal's star player. I know the Brighton fans loved him. However he will be 23 in January , at that age he really has to show he can make it in the premier league now. Another loan would be pointless, he needs to take any chances he gets.

Suso wasn't shite.

Tex has more about him in terms of tenacity and backs himself more IMO compared to Suso for a foreign player

Teixeira was on loan at Brighton last season and according to most of their fans his biggest problem is his LACK of tenacity. He was brilliant in some games for them but it was noticeable that against the more physical teams Teixeira didn't seem to fancy it as much.

I can believe that, but I wonder if he's one of those players who'll just flourish the more technical the opposition he faces. He looks like a born LFC player to me, at least in possession.

I dunno, maybe I'm giving him too much credit, but I still think it's a shame that he probably won't get a proper chance for us.

I'd love to see him on the bench at the start of the season and then play him in League Cup games and Europa league and let him prove himself. The only other option would be a loan but only to a Premier League team and only on the understanding he has to play regularly and only until Xmas. That way we'll get to see his progress and can recall him at Xmas if he takes to the EPL well.

I think loans to an EPL club has to be a full season with no recall, isn't it?
