He'll do very well in La Liga - slower paced, where defenders who aren't great defenders (Pique for example) or who aren't even defenders (Mascherano) hold their own with ease.

Don't they use Alex Song as a central defender on occasion?

We should have signed Lloris like I was beging to do 2-3 years ago. Excellent keeper and went for peanuts

Lloris isnt a better keeper imho. Error prone and has been very flappy the last few months.

I think its way to early to say that we've signed the wrong replacement.
He's got the quality and frame, so lets give him some time and a organized and settled defence infront of him.

Lloris is the best shot stopper in the league, it's the other aspects of his game that lets him down. He's probably a little bit better than Mignolet overall, however he's a lot more error prone, so it balances itself out. Mignolet will progress more in the next years I believe.

Lloris has been error prone and flappy since he got his head smashed in by Lukaku.

Reina's best days are a thing of the past. I'm unconvinced by Mignolet, he really needs to come off his line and command his box more. However, he's got people in front of him who don't instil confidence.

2 years younger aswell

Or maybe he's the one who doesn't instil confidence in those in front of him. Probably a bit of both.

We need some sort of emergency intervention on our defensive organisation. So little organisation and communication. Maybe all defenders and GKs need to go on a team building course. I feel like they just don't get along as team mates at all which combined with some flaws in ability is leading to epic levels of defensice errors.

They're all poor mate, and the defensive coaching is too. Agger ducks out of too many challenges, it's easy to avoid fucking up when your game is solely dependent on reading the game, he never covers ground or strays to cover up openings, and when he does he usually gets caught out (cf his tackle in the second half when he, for once, strayed out from the back and clumsily tackled from behind). Skrtel is the opposite, he mops up all over and over stretches himself, he was poor today but as I've said a million times, when Johnson plays we never tuck in as a unit, he leaves us too open and the centre backs get stretched as a consequence.

We need to sort it out, we need to get Sakho back and fit and see where we go from there, Skrtel is just about keeping his head above water because he covers so much ground, but neither he, Agger or Toure look like the answer.

Agree with most of that, but I think Skrtel's shown enough solid form over the years to at least warrant a place in the squad.

He had a poor game today, there's no denying that and he can be ropey at times but it has to be said, he's left seriously vulnerable with our attacking philosophy(which is top class btw, but it does have a downside) and with an ever changing defensive partner and full backs.

One thing Skrtel does, even when he's having a mare, is go missing and shit out of tackles...he was having problems with Bony all game and was on a yellow from early on in the game but it didn't stop him flying into tackles and putting his body on the line..he's as honest as the day is long.

As for Agger, his days at Liverpool are numbered imo. Kolo might stick around as 4th or 5th choice but i wouldn't be surprised to see him go as well.

Don't blame him, he's got wildcards playing in front of him, I can't blame him for being unsettled with the fucking havoc kolo's caused in recent weeks and with todays performers at times.

Lloris has been the anti-Mignolet and the Joe Hart of London. It seems like he can't wait to come off his line every time and there's always a screw up waiting to happen there. I'm sure if he played for us, we'll be complaining about him too, and ironically, for just the opposite reason as Mig.

I think you meant "doesn't do", because otherwise it looks like you're on a quest to contradict yourself. 😀
Toure's on a 2-year contract; I think he'll likely stick around, play till the end of it, and retire.

Like you, I think of the two, Skrtel is more likely to be retained over Agger - funny this was the other way around at the end of last season. Skrtel and Agger, their similarities in losing concentration and fucking up, as well as sharing tattoo needles aside, are as different as chalk and cheese in terms of defensive style; somewhat like Carra and Hyypia. Skrtel is the frantic tackler, while Agger is the classy stopper. Except that both of them fall a long way short of measuring up to their model.

With Sakho also a left footer and ready to challenge Agger, there being no real challenger to Skrtel at this point, and given Skrtel's better fitness record, I think Rodgers will opt to keep the bald one. Mind you, he's probably on borrowed time himself, as maybe in another season or two, he'll be replaced.

I only saw MOTD, why was Mignolet so bad?

There were a couple of incidents where he either didn't come off his line to clear or almost screwed up when he did - one where Skrtel ushered the ball and gestured for him to come out to collect and he hesitated, giving everyone a heart attack, and another where he came out to the edge and collected the ball then let it slip from his grasp and gave us another heart attack.
