He wasn't as bad as people are making out, he was just a little indecisive, it seems quite a few already have their knifes out for poor Mignolet.

I think it's down to the snowballing effect. You make some mistakes here, demonstrate some mistakes there, make some more here... it's hardly going to make people comfortable. I'm on the fence about him, but leaning more in his favour just because it's his first season here and he's a good shot stopper. He does have to start helping himself though.

Not knives out. Just know he's not good enough in the long term. Was never convinced when we bought him. Am even less so now.

Stopping shots is the basic requirement.

Stopping shots is the basic requirement.

But he's exceptional at it. Reina's better at the other aspects of goalkeeping, but his shot stopping had declined rapidly. He's young enough to persevere with, especially when (as you say!) he does the basics, the rest can be worked on.

Reina's best days are a thing of the past. I'm unconvinced by Mignolet, he really needs to come off his line and command his box more. However, he's got people in front of him who don't instil confidence.

I don't think we can overstate what a dreadful goalkeeping coach Achterburg is. He destroyed Reina and looks like he's doing the same to Mig. I thought Corrigan was bad, but this guy is taking over the reins quite nicely.

Johnson was dire. Another half arsed performance from the established international.

He can fuck off in the summer. £100k a week. What a joke.

It was his first game back after a lay off following playing with multiple injuries for the bulk of the season.

I wasn't impressed either, haven't been all season, but judge him based on the situation as we know it, which has been given to us by Rodgers.

I know mate but that was the same level of performance before he was injured. You know things are wrong when you're hoping Cissokho is going to replace him off the bench!

This, 100%.

Can anyone really make a case for Actherberg? 3 years this summer he would have been here and in that period our goalkeeping has been below par, thats a kind description of it.

Johnson was so bad that I missed Cissokho during the game. That says it all.

Ming wasnt that bad at all. Its beyond mad that people have given up already. For me its his first season and he's still adapting. Was the second best goalkeeper in the league last year and that quality isnt gone. He'll only get better and we need to have som long term perspecitve. He's 25 years old.

Achtenberg should be replaced though

I didn't think Johnson was as bad as some make out. I thought he looked comfortable bar that one misplaced pass to Agger. Also suprised to see Flanagan receive some flack. I thought he was the only one out of our back four to put in a decent shift.

Skrtel had a shocker. Booked for a kick out at Shelvey which resulted in an og then later giving away a penalty. That quite a few individual errors for Skrtel this season. Kolo had two big ones in three games for us. Hurry back Sakho.

Johnson wasn't that bad at all. Neither was Flanagan. The CBs and Gerrard were all awful though.

Mingolet infuriates me with his reluctance to leave his line.

Okay, he isn't a 'sweeper keeper' like Pepe or Neuer but he still needs to command his box and make decisions. His shot stopping is excellent but we need more.
