Exactly. We were crap and that's all there is to say. Have a rest and go again.
Lallana is so fucking overrated. I think he literally does more harm than good considering the players we have to move around to accommodate him.
And Rodgers needs to rest players for the replay. We can't take any chances in the league.

All credit to Blackburn. We werent good enough. But its fair to call the ref shite. 2 stonewall pens not given.

Blackburn had tons of energy and defensively were superb. Not surprising though since this is such a massive game for them, and although it's the FAC ¼ final it was still Blackburn and the team looked tired after all of their recent exertions. The massive downside though is that the reply will probably fall midweek between our weekend matches against Arsenal and United.
Allen injury doesn't help, but Moreno for a start, that way arguably our best player today wouldn't have been starting 80 yards away from their goal. If not Manquillo right and Johnson left, and Markovic (who has been crap every time I've seen him on the right) should have been swapped with Sterling.
As for tactics, how many teams has he got to watch to know how to deal with a target man/break outfit.
I didn't see any stonewall pens to be honest. If given they would shave been soft at best.

Good : Toure, Sterling, Balo (except for that stupid long range shot)
OK : Johnson, Ming (great save but very little to do)
Below Ave. : Lovren, Can, Coutinho, Markovic, Henderson, Sturridge (yet still could have scored)

Lallana first half. Defender kicks his foot not the ball.
Sturridge second half. Killgallon pulls him back with his arm.
Balotelli second half. The Blackburn defender holding and pulling his shirt.
The first should have been given. The other two are probably 50/50 after watching them again in the studio over here. You usually dont get anything from those fouls. Could have been given though.

I don't think he did, covered well at the back too, maybe an Above Ave. rating, though I didn't see anything to raise him above that.
I don't think any of those are stonewall.
The Lallana one is very difficult for officials to see as the ball goes the way you would expect if a defender gets a toe to it.
The Sturridge one is never a pen as he's not getting anywhere near the ball, pull back or not.
Don't remember the Balotelli one at all.

To be fair, this game is provbably not on top tem worst games of the season... So dont be cocky and spoiled over a couple of months good run. The job myst be done and today credit to Blackburn for digging in and not be overrunned. We will beat them away but sulking over a thight quarter final in FA cup seem stupid.
For the record, Sturridge getting to the ball or not is irrelevant if its a foul.
But, we deserved nothing - and got nothing. So cant complain to much.

You love being the contrarian eh? I don't think we deserved to win (or lose) today, but regardless, that doesn't take away from the ref's poor performance ... Too many fouls on Sterling without whisltes or yellows. The penalty calls were fine - at best, 50/50 but overall, he was poor. Just like one can say "A player is poor when we win," you can say a ref is shite when we draw/win too.
Lallana was our weak link today - he slows down a lot of attacks by taking far too many touches. He's a good player but there's times when you're screaming, "PASS THE BALL" and he does a turn, and another turn, etc.
Lallana was really frustrating, he slowed every attack down, pissing around instead of getting the ball in early.
Sturridge needs to start working, it comes to something when Mario comes on and makes you look lazy. We look better at the minute with Sterling up top, at least we look hungry and defend from the front.

Personally I thought it was a shit performance that wouldn't have worked at all had the ref booked the early challenges that in any other game would have been penalised without a second thought.
He needs to go to the gym. He gets knocked down so much it's ridiculous. When he jumps for headers it's like he is just doing it for show because he is never going to win any.
