Really good that, but thanks to two moments of madness, there's bound to be retrospective action against Shelvey and Sterling.

How good was Coutinho eh? This system really suits him, especially with Moreno in behind him.

Wow.. a few things.

  • Put a DM and a dynamic CM in the middle and we look good (sorry Stevie)
  • Wingbacks as wingbacks mean we shape up well defensively
  • Coutinho when he is in the mood is quality
  • Love watching us play when we have multiple players making runs up top. Coutinho was loving having the ball and seeing Sterling, Hendo, Lallana, Moreno all making runs around him. Beautiful.

I'd like to see Sterling, Markovic, Lallana and Coutinho in attacking positions at the same time.

Lallana getting motm on this american channel courtesy of Robbie Mustoe or Robbie Earle, no idea which, they said 'thanks Robbie' for choosing.

I reckon the ref will say he saw it but it deserve action, but will probably say he didn't see Shelvey cos it had way more intent (although he obv did).

1 loss in 10, building up a little bit of form. I think our second half of the season will be miles better.
This plus sturridge means it definitely will be.

If my assertion about our fitness improving in the second half proves true we'll continue to press the fuck out of teams too.

There was a real sense of some swagger coming back into our play in that 2nd half and Swansea actually looked scared of going forward which, again, is reminiscent the first 5 months of this year.

The movement after our third goal was unbelievable. It looked chaotic and Swansea really looked helpless against it.

The effort where Sterling hit the post would have been awfully close to goal of the season had it gone in - absolutely sublime. Reminded me of the famous goal against Spurs all those years ago.

Think Coutinho was MOM though he was pushed very hard by Lallana.

Can - one very average effort aside which led to their goal - was very good. He's composed at the back and really worked hard on his discipline to stay there though it's one of the few times I've ever seen a CB play a back heel near the attacking corner post.

Markovic looked sharp when he came on and seems to have established himself as a steady rotation either starting or coming on as a sub which is good to see.

Moreno and Manquillo (to a lesser extent) really enjoyed the wing back play. Moreno particularly was happy being out there.
