BTW Allen had a solid game. I'd say he was the only player in the front five who really ran his legs off harassing and pressing. Even the usually hardworking Henderson was off today, and he was as responsible as Gerrard in allowing Shelvey the freedom of Anfield in the first half. Crisp passing from the Welshman too, and showed again his talent in getting the ball out of tight spaces.

Mignolet is not helping our admittedly horrific defence - he puts them under pressure time after time by not anticipating the run of the ball

We've still not got our first choice defence, so there's probably a reason why we're so shit at the back. The problem today however was that Gerrard didn't track his runners at all, and Agger was hopeless. Mignolet was quite the chicken shit too and Flannel Again got caught out multiple times. God I can't wait for Sakho to be back.

With this defence, we need to just concentrate on getting the CL place.. forget about the league.

Agger - Horrendous. Skrtel - Shocking. Glenjo - Clumsy. Flannagan - inexperienced. Mingnolet - cowardly.

Yep, that was it for me today as well. We're not winning the league.

Poor defence, unbalanced midfield, and fewer options in attack than a North Korean restaurant. I'm pretty sure we can get 4th, maybe even 3rd, but that's all I'm thinking about from now on.

No doubt there are things we need to do a lot better but, with 70 goals to our credit before the end of February, how do you make *that* out?

...and one we would almost certainly have failed to notch up before this season.

Exactly! In previous seasons we used to curse MU for getting points like this.
The last two league wins were hard fought. Unconvincing as we'd like them to be, but the points in the bag must boost our confidence and instill the "never say die" attitude in our players.

All good points on the need to improve, but here's one thing we do not need to improve on - scoring. It's fecking miraculous to think we've gone from Torres and gerrard to Luis, Studger, coutinho, sterling, gerrard, as a scoring machine. And hendo got two today, maybe he is learning...

Our worst/best (cross out whichever one you want) defender got 2 against the arse as well.

Ming is doing my head in...we need Pepe back.

Ming can warm the bench, I don't care.

Goal keeping is not only about shot stopping.

Goal keeping is helped by a shot stopping ability though

Reinas gk ability had gone to cock the last few years, whilst being able to organise the defence. Mignolet however has great gk ability, but seems to nervous to impose himself on the defence and organise.

Confidence issue, or lack of bottle I've no idea, however this is the kind of thing the gk coach SHOULD be working with him on

Really shite is way ott.

We've conceded 5 goals in the last 2 games. 4 mistakes including 2 own goals.
Ming isnt the problem imho. Yes, he should be more offensive and sweep better. But you cant blame him for getting reluctant about coming out when mistakes are being made left, right and centre.

Bring back Reina is biggest nonsense around.
Have some faith in Ming, sort out the defence and it will improve.

Reina is finished.

People also forget he's adopting aswell. First season and playing under insane pressure compared to Sunderland.
He'll only improve.
We wont be replacing him so its a moot point regardless imho.
