Cattermole and Fletcher out for the season and they're already in freefall - could they be a late contender for relegation?

I've been to 8 matches at Anfield this season and they're by far the worst opposition i've seen.

I hope not, they're a club that should be in the Premier League. I hate O'Neill though.

Could be dragged into relegation dogfight straightaway over the next 2 games against Man Utd and Chelsea. Have potential 6 pointers against Villa and Southampton too. With Fletcher accounting for 1/3 of their paltry goals scored, they could be in real trouble indeed.

It's probably a safe bet that Wigan will go on a decent run. I think they have a good run in as well. Sunderland could easily be dragged into it.

If Wigan win their game in hand then Sunderland are only 1 point above relegation . My Mackem mate has been convinced they are going down since early February . They will miss Fletcher badly .

I agree. There are certain big clubs I always feel the PL is less interesting without. Sunderland, Newcastle, West Ham, Leeds, Aston Villa, West Brom. Other things being equal I'd prefer them to be there.

Where's all the people who thought Woody was the messiah?
I'd love to see them go down.
Think they'll do just about enough to stay up they should get 8 points from the remaining fixtures although the next 3 they have will yield 1 point at best.

Sunderland didn't really bother me until fat head became their manager. His insistence on overpaying for Utd rejects did nothing but infuriate me. I prefer watching Wigan anyway

Injuries. I think he went on loan to Ipswich, but I'm not 100%.

Went to Sheffield Wednesday. He certainly hasn't lived up to the hype thus far.

It's a weird one with Sunderland, they've some decent players - Mignolet, Seb Larsson, Gardner, Adam Johnson(when he wants it), Sessegnon etc.

It's a bit of a mystery why they're struggling and O'Neill has to take a share of the blame for not getting the best out of them.

"Sunderland have won only two points (D2 L7) from a possible 27 in their last nine Premier League home games against Man Utd."
