Are you saying Sturridge is like Cole? I find it disturbing if you are. Cole was a finisher pure and simple, he thrived in teams that created chances for him and he was lethal a lot of the time. Sturridge can score from anywhere and has far more ability and skill. He has the ability to beat players and score goals he's created himself. Cole would never have scored either the goal at Villa or Stoke, or the lob against Everton.
 
The article is full of agenda driven shit, but *helmet on* I do think that Sturridge still hasn't been fully embraced by all of the support yet. There's loads that still whinge about his dance (with no idea it is meant to be self-deprecating), that complain uproariously about his selfishness, and fail to give him credit for his incredible scoring record. I think loads still don't quite get him. These things can take time though depending on the player, particularly if that player comes with the kind of poisonous rep that accompanied Studge when he arrived. I don't think there's anyone now that'll say that he isn't a proper Liverpool player. Most, like me, are waiting for him to make himself a great, something that's in his powers to do.


A good song is also well fucking overdue.

I'm saying he scores more goals than a player of his ability ought to, just like Cole and Lampard. Usually for attacking players you would be saying the opposite thing, but those three guys seem to get what the sole purpose and point of football is better than most.

No, a celebration should be rapturous and capture the passion of the moment. Self-deprecation and irony are therefore totally unsuitable.
