You protest that you aren't questioning Sturridge's talent but you then give the game away by calling it "limited". Having less talent than Ronaldo doesn't make his own talent "limited". Sturridge is way better an all-round footballer than Andrew Cole.

Semantics. If I compare myself to Richard Feynman, then my own intellect seems limited and it pisses me off for discovering things which should have been discovered by someone better.

Obviously Sturridge is a far better player than Cole. When I was pissed off at Andy Cole it was because I was comparing him to Fowler and Owen, but to get pissed off at Sturridge I have to compare him to Messi and Ronaldo. Slightly different levels of talent, but the same principle / goal scoring rates.
