Well I am sure they won't be after they saw ours not being able to put a single pass together in that 2nd half display.
I felt we were so bad in that 2nd half that we just hand onus to spurs especially at the start of the half. We had kinda weathered the storm a bit by the time they scored and the game was pretty even at that stage and we then went into a shell to just hang on. The result overshadows the actual preformance

First of all I am Not in any Hole, and there is no kneejerking either. You and the likes of @Frogfish are blind to the problems we have had for the last few seasons and only now is reality hitting most people here. As for your comment about there are no "easy teams" in knockout competitions - that is proper bollox if there ever was one. Especially on a day like this when we have drawn Real Madrid, I am sure if you did a poll on here most would chose any team but them.

"The problems we have have had for the last few seasons" in which we've won the title, reached two European Cup finals and won one, run Qatar City to the wire in the league more than once? Those problems? BTW, if you yourself are going to refer to "the last few seasons" don't bother complaining when others do the same.

This is your usual performance, mate - you're panicking at this season's difficulties, spewing that out on to the forum here and then desperately scrambling to try and defend the indefensible when others call you out on it. Do we have problems we need to put right? Yes. Does that justify your total pessimism? Does it b*ggery.

Seriously - I have given some thought over your post, and I will pay for your next pair of glasses.

No its not , we were very lucky :

  • apart from the semi finals for those two cups we won, most games we got easy teams, and more interestingly we never scored in either final during normal time.
  • CL run - that was easier than most - again did not win it.
  • PL - win the spurs game at home and we could have had the title so we failed yet again by getting too many draws.
  • Oh - there was a solid three weeks before the CL final where we had like all our squad available.
  • The other teams we are struggling against do not have the players they have now with the ability to press us. In fact where we played teams last season that pressed us we struggled, that has always been the case when your midfielders are not that good at keep ball and their final 3rd play is like slow motion shit.

Too many people just ignore some of the dross and issues we have had ever since we failed to sign someone to replace Gini that season.
You are damn right about how lucky we were last season.....

We were lucky in the Champions League when we got the piss easiest opponents in the group stage, and, even then, only narrowly scraped through to the knock out rounds

We were lucky in the league cup when we came up against a relegation struggling team in the semi finals who were on a run of really poor form

We were lucky in the league when we were 13 points ahead of City and they had been all but written off, only for us to all but blow that lead over the last 2 months of the season.

Fucking lucky lucky Liverpool

1) Yes we were lucky in the group stages to be the strongest team in that group and be the first ever english club to win all our group games against teams with reputations in Europe where they were once very good like decades ago. We also were lucky to get he easiest draws in the knock-out stages leading to the final.

2) lucky in the league cup in the semi-finals - but what about the rounds before ? - also we had a squad that had two good marksmen in reserve to help us through - who we sold and did not replace.

3) as for the league - we had like 2 games in hand. So in reality it was never 13/14 points we made up - more like 7.
