Thoughts:

  • don't think we deserved 3 points - a lot of calls went out way, and they really had us carved as often, if not more, as we did. We were just more clinical.
  • Ibou very good. VvD later on the game showed me something is slightly off - ball in the air, and he's just trodding with Ibou heading toward him and Kane wins the ball. We need him to be more imposing.
  • TAA - poor defensively but great passes.
  • Thiago - off it today.
  • Elliot - very good until he started to tire.
  • Mo - well, the real Mo is standing up. KEEP IT UP!
  • Nunez - could have set up Mo for a hat trick ... getting better ... love it.
  • Bobby - very wasteful and felt he should have come off earlier.

Disasterous second half performance when the energy levels nosedived, but we did enough to scrape over the line due to Salahs clinical brilliance and Konate bailing us out time and time again.

We got a bit fortunate with some ref calls, but fuck it, we desperately need the points so it's seems mad to whinge how they come right now.

Trent with some beautiful passing today, he really is in his own league as a full back when it comes to switching play quickly.

But by god does he look mentally tired. I hope for his sake that he misses the World Cup, gets 10 days off then joins our Dubai camp late and with the benefit of a rest / something to prove.

Thiago connected with Lucas at the end there, right? How on earth was that not a VAR pen given the bollocks they usually throw at us?

Great 3 points that.

If we can go into the break with another 3pts from Southampton at home next week, I'll start to feel more confident of getting CL footy.

With Diaz, Jota and Matip all due back after the world cup, 'if' we can start to address the midfield issues in January, I'd actually make us favourites for a top four finish.

Yeah, I think he missed him. Lucas pushed him anyway so for me it should have been a free kick to us.

We always deserve it when we play Spurs. They're shite and Conte is a cunt.

Sky coverage annoying as usual, lost once to Spurs in 20 games so they go on and on about the 4-1 and Lovren.

Tough watch that but it's about time we enjoyed riding our luck to a tight away win

Didn’t see the game, but I found this lovely photo of @Hansern immediately after the final whistle:

scraping the bottom of the barrell, aren't we...
No not really...more like poking the bottom to the point where we make a hole and trying plug that hole with our fingers. That entire 2nd half was uncomfortable viewing.

I agree with all of this except the bit about Nunez... He did and Salah missed the easiest chance of the three he had 🙂

I know some have adopted Nunez as their new cult hero… but generally players become cult heroes because they’re flawed / not very good (in a kinda lovable way).

I prefer it when players are just great. Hopefully Nunez ends up as more than just jokes.

This is true...

... but on the other hand, Mad Donkey Fan Club.

If we were more clinical (and we were), we deserved to win for that reason alone. It really is as simple as that.

Agree with pretty much everything here but do think Alexander Arnold and Robertson were being deliberately targeted by two or three attackers with no cover or help at all.

I was genuinely afraid that Spurs were going to tear us a new one through the middle but don’t think it managed truly to rip us apart; rather we, as has been has become the norm this season, largely contrived to gift them the ball time and time again with some shocking decision-making.

But I’ll take three points and the first away win any time.
