What do you mean personally? In that he personally thought that Suarez did better than Barnes did that season? You do know that Barnes scored 28 in total. That's two goals less than Suarez who's a striker. It's shame we don't have any assist stats for Barnes but I'm guessing he got more than 11 assists that season.
I'd take more notice of Suarez goal stat if Barnes was a striker and since I don't have any assist stats for him either, it becomes a question of skill. Like I said before "skill wise" Barnes was better than Suarez. There was just more to his game.
Why do you get caught up on what I said about Coutinho? The lad has potential.
You said that winning the league added weight to it - you used it as a means to big-up Barnes, I meant that Suarez himself, regardless of Silverware, "personally" had a better season. You forget that Suarez has pretty much carried us at times, Barnes was surrounded by quality and playing in a comparatively less cultured and less competitive game.
The Coutinho point was fucking stupid and that last comment only serves to compound that, "potential"? So Coutinho is closer to doing what Barnes did based on half a season and something he only has the suggested ability to be able to achieve, yet Suarez is dismissed easily?
When you're a fan of someone, as we've seen with Barnes, Aquilani and Coutinho, you don't half get overexcited and exaggerate their abilities to get your point across, you really don't need to, but suggesting that unequivocally Barnes is the better player is just an opinion Modo, one that's lacking any real perspective or detachment to provide a fairer, balanced view. The fact you blindly tossed in that Coutinho point just pierces holes all over a view that's already pissing all over the place.
