Hansern

Thinks he owns the place

Just hope he gets some time before people will go over the top with sacking and whatnot.
It will clearly take time, and we could go on and lose the next 3-4 games if everything goes to shite. This teams confidence is extremely fragile and it sadly doesnt take much before we let our heads drop.

Hopefully he'll get time and support to show if he can take us to the top. Its a massive job and the press will be all over him now towards thenext game against City.

We started in the absolutly wort possible fashion though. Gutted..

We'll beat city and UTD, but lose against the smaller teams

because its the liverpool way

Picked up his 1st away point with Swansea in Oct '11 and 1st away in in Jan '12.
3wins 3 draws 4 loses in 1st 10 league matches (LDDLWLWLDW).
Just saying.

The fans will get the flak for having the temerity to be depressed. Dalglish will get the flack for being a great man who's still alive and chanted about. Some of the players will start to get the flak for letting the manager down. It'll take a while before Rodgers gets much criticism. And FSG have made their choice for 'the Liverpool Family' and they won't want to back down.

His post match interview was good. He said exactly what I was thinking without crying about referee decisions (as shite as it was). It's about looking forward and accepting that we're going to have days like this. Just a shame it was on the first day of the season and we have tougher games ahead.

This scoreline was totally out of the blue to us all and it was his first competitive game in charge of this club,he'll go back to the traning ground and get back to the basics, its not worked today but it will come right , i've a feeling we'll be around the half way mark for the first quarter of the season till it starts ticking and then we'll surge and battle for the top spots.. *shrugs shoulders*

Yah, except if we have a one in a million like Van Gaal who could fix our broken ass club!

I think Henry had it right during the week, it can't be done overnight.

I think the squad is pretty awful, others disagree and think they've just been playing below themselves for three years now and the right manager can bring the best out of them. We'll see.

I like the Borini and Allen signings, but it's going to take so much more than a couple of decent signings and some new ideas.

Exactly, we're not going to transform the club overnight. There'll be pain on the journey alright

It actually says a lot that Hansern felt the need to question whether or not Rodgers would be given stick immediately.

Are our fans really that bad ?

To be honest I would be shocked if there weren't a few saying it already.
Lose next week and there will probably be one or two on the site saying it.

I don't think we deserved to win today, but I feel 3-0 was pretty ridiculous. This game isn't indicative of the quality of the team, nor the quality of Brendan Rodgers. We're better than this, as a fanbase. We don't overreact to one result. Well, we do now, but we shouldn't. We know the scoreline, if not the results, was down to a dubious decision or two from the ref, but we also know it was down to our strikers. We didn't control the ball, or the game, so we need to do better.

I thought we'd do a fuck load better today, so expectations on my side need to be more realistic, but so do those who think we're not going to have some bumps along the way.

Bill Shankly’s first game in charge ended in a 4-0 defeat to Cardiff on 19/12/1959.

"Naturally I'm disappointed but it's just as well that I've seen the team give an off-form display in my first match. I've learned quite a few things this way," Shankly told me.

Walk on.

I dont think so in general mate, but there will be a couple on his back pretty quickly. Those not happy with sacking Kenny will maybe have less patience with him.

You're spot on about the team though. There are gaping holes in this side and it will take time to rebuild. I like the age and type of players we're signing.

It will take time and I think Rodgers will make us successfull, but with bad results some will be on his back. Sadly.

As you know, I thought Kenny should have had another season but that's by the by now. He's gone and we move forward. We have to have patience though. As I said pre match new players and new system. I'd like a bit stability in the side. The harsh reality of it is that we may not see the proper shoots of recovery until after Christmas

Agreed mate. It will take a bit of time and we're signing quite a few players for the second year running.

I expected more commitment and passion from the senior players today though.

I didnt see the game. But yes a bit of graft is the very least you can ask for
Honestly what I saw in the second half was abysmal from some. Lazy passing and movement. Only Johnson, Suarez and Allen showed any commitment

Actually borini did too but he wasn't too good

We don't have many grafters now unfortunately. Mascherano, Alonso, Arbeloa, Kuyt could all graft and work like fuck when they played.

Can the same be applied to the likes of Johnson, Enrique, Gerrard and Downing? (to name 4)

Well according to Fabio, with Johnson yes.

Think its a good thing we've got 2 home games now. Even if its against very good opposition, being at Anfield might inject some needed passion.
