A few things there:

Rafa does not seem pissed off, which can mean lots of things but is generally a good sign. He could be happy or he could have decided that negative comments/moans and the friction it would cause wont help

Also

We do not need a "scouting department" to be looking at signing Silva, so dont hold your breath. ( side question: Is Silva an improvement on an in form Benny?)

I'm sort of pleased to see that interview just now, I saw a headline this morning describing the start to the season as a "disaster".... fucking we are all a bit miffed we lost, I dislike Spurs as much as the next man myself, but really even by the press' standards a little bit early for that kind of description.

An on form Benayoun is very good, an on form Silva is even better, i remember watching Silva in that game against Chelsea and he ran havoc, Benayoun on form couldn't do that.

I don't remember this, i'm not doubting it happened though, just don't remember. I just remember that goal, what a goal, and his general play and skill, he was fanatastic to watch and caused Chelsea all kinds of troubles.

Thats just one game anyway, i've seen him do it so many times, I really feel that if he came here he could become even more than what he is now. I know it's not going to happen, but i'm not going to stop hoping it will, now is the right time for Silva to move and Liverpool is the perfect place for him to go, if he stays with Valencia I fear he could end up stagnanting a bit.

my personal opinion of silva is a very talented player who shows glimpes of awesome talent but isn't the finished article. He really reminds me of torres at AM. The talent is there but it isn't a gimme, it could go either way. rafa took a chance with torres and it paid of big style there is no guarantee it would happen with silva, okay there are no guarantees in football but it was less of a risk with torres because he (torres) had the phsyical presence to quickly take to the league so the transition was easier, sliva doesn't have nando's physique.

but having said that morientes (*shudder*) is about as 'english' a forward as you are likely to see with someone born in spain and was a disgrace so physique isn't a guarantee either.

Thats the correct way to view Silva to be fair, it's actually what he is, but I'm more confident than you that he'd make it here. He doesn't have Torres physique, to be fair not many players do, Torres is a beast, but i don't buy the common critisim that Silva is a typical small weak spanish winger because when i've seen him play he does seem to like grafting and tussling with players on occassion.

I really think he'll make it here, it's faster than most people here think, he's stronger than most people here think, he's goal scoring record is complete wank, but like alot of other people on this site, i honest think that'll change.

I just wish Rafa would take a punt on this guy, or be given the cash needed to be able too.

Yep.

I just remember one great goal and a few good touches here and there. Second half, he disappeared. Amazing how one good goal can make 'a good game'.

I think Benny should be played more full stop, he is a tricky little type like Torres said we needed, and last season, at least for the second half of it he was class.

Im not saying we dont need reinforcement we do clearly but in amongst my moans and the selling of Alonso we STILL have a good shot this season if we play to our full potential.

As for Silva.... im still not convinced he is a massive improvement on Benny but he does represent a really good strengthening addition.

I do not think for a second we will be signing him sadly.

Simple maths deduced from reading the posts in this thread - If he's not on the bench or playing then he is obviously offski, there can be no other reason to explain it, so therefore if he's on the bench, then there can be no possible way he'd be going.
