I think i'm in a somewhat more difficult situation then a lot of you in that i've never experienced some of these fantastic players week in week out, and my only ever glimpse of something good on the wings for Liverpool has either come from a 1980s video or some youtube clip or other.
The point is, is that it's a lot easier to see the better side of Lucas (ish) if you've never been blessed with watching Molby, Souness etc. I know i've seen Alonso, Gerrard, Hamann and other great players, but they've been lumped in with such shit as Diao, Biscan, Diomede etc., and so someone like Lucas who isn't *bad* ( he actually isn't), but merely fucking average is moderately acceptable to watch when sat next to a Gerrard, a Mascherano, an Alonso. When expected to sit alongside the likes of Poulsen however, i'd rather eat my own eyeballs, but we know he *is* better than Poulsen, than Diao, than Biscan and to that extent, merits a place in the squad, kind of.
