Did a 10k run last night, got out of the shower and collapsed on my bed. I turned the radio on by chance to see if I could get the golf scores and lo-and-behold there's a live show from Liverpool featuring an audience of 500, Rafa and Ian Brodie.
The interviewer did a 30 minute interview with Rafa and it was superb. His love for the city is unbelieveable, he was asked why he has now chosen to live in Liverpool instead of Madrid and he seemed confused by the question and just re-iterated how much he and his family love the city and how happy they are to be back.
He was asked about his future and he said he definitely would rather stay in The Premiership in preference to the Spanish league. When pushed as to which type of clubs he would consider he replied "Well obviously it's difficult with Liverpool because Kenny's doing such a great job".
He confirmed what we all knew, that it was Montse who filled him in on everything he needed to know about the city of Liverpool (re: the 2nd world war, Thatcher etc) and also about LFC.
The crowd really warmed to him and he was very entertaining. Ian Brodie was on after him to sing a couple of songs (brilliantly, Oh Lucky You and Pure) but requested to meet Rafa first and apparently gave him a hug. Afterwards Brodie said that despite the fact he shouted at Rafa a few times when watching us (presumably on telly) Rafa gave us some great nights and some great memories.
I still frikkin' love Rafa!
