Can we swap Pirlo for Allen??? They need a Xavi in their team!!!
What age was Gary Mac when we signed him?I'd say signing a 36 year old would be a measure of our ambitions.
From what I've seen of him he would be fantastic in our team. but I doubt it matters we would never get him.36, I think. Considerably more athletic and mobile than Pirlo, of course, but Pirlo has the same nous that the team so painfully lacks.

Shame he wasn't around for the Armani suits. If anyone in world football could have pulled that shit off, it would be modern-day Pirlo.

Not the league or champions league but contributed to three trophies which I am sure most people would take next year! (oh and champions league qualification.)How many league or champions league titles did we win with him?
I wanted Alonso back for that very reason but hey, Pirlo would do just fine.Obviously in an ideal world it wouldn't be an option, but here and now we desperately need brains, craftiness and good judgement. The only time when this bunch of players looks good is when they play at the peak of their pace. When the pace slows, they just look laboured, predictable and bereft of ideas. In that context, Pirlo would at least bring some wit to this team, a cool prudence that would teach the rest how to control a game when it isn't at breakneck speed. And he's Pirlo.
I'm sure Pirlo can't wait to have his face stroked by the one and only Brendan Rodgers.
I think you credit him with much deeper research than the reality.I'm not buying this Pirlo deal.. when likely the story originated from @redhorizon2 transfer rumour thread..
