I couldn't care less that he used to be a manc or that he fucked up off the pitch as a young kid, by all accounts he has been getting his head down and getting on with it for quite a while, hes clearly not a shit player, hes hugely talented and at 21 its all ahead of him, as i mentioned it would be a gamble but for 7/8 million quid its worth it, the club seem to like doing these punts, if we are going to carry on this way then hes one we should punt on.

You're right, I've only seen highlight reels and reserve games he's played in but in a top club you need professionals as well. I personally think that team spirit is something important and I wouldn't want to buy someone who has the potential to disrupt it. You do know that Fergie pretty much tossed him away for that reason. Ask yourself why West Ham decided to do the same?
You talk about taking a gamble, but do we actually need to take a gamble? We have a settled side as it is and we've got some decent young up and comers, why spend 7/8 million on him when that money could be put to better use? Like buying Konoplyanka, Draxler or whoever, potential world class players.
Also, I don't think the comparison is irrelevant because the players I compared him with are also overrated domestic wingers. I think your comparison to Sturridge is more irrelevant. We all knew that Sturridge was a talented player before he joined us, the problem for most of us was his selfishness. I never had an issue with his skills or attitude.
Yes, it might seem like my hate for him is clouding my judgement, but like in many other cases my judgement on some of the overrated domestic wingers we've been linked with has been correct. Nothing tells me that he's the sort of player that wants to take his game to the next level.
For you who think I don't rate English players, this isn't about him being English it's about the hype train that usually follows English players and also inflates their value. People were talking about taking Morrison to the world cup after a few goals for WH, what a joke!

The most talented wing prospects in England are currently Sterling and Oxlade-Chamberlain imo.
Morrison isn't even a winger Modo, he's better as a strong runner from central midfield.
