4 points clear at the top of the table now. If we can't win the title this year, it would be great if Arsenal beat City to it.
I'm with Rurik. Forget their fans, they will have done it the 'right way' giving Arteta time and some money but nothing like the Oil State clubs. And it'd fuck with the heads of that arrogant club/fans/Guardiola no end - you'd love to see it (whether it's Arsenal or us).
That said I don't count us out yet. City have shown more weakness this season (they've not really played anyone of real consequence yet unless you include United or Newcastle away, which they drew 3-3) and Haaland may have started like a house on fire but he'll get injured or have a poor spell. As far as reeling them in, the Rangers game and now this may have kick-started our season, our confidence will be sky high and the World Cup break may help too.
We are 10 points behind City with a game in hand but have yet to go to the Etihad. A very tough ask but we've come from further behind them before.
We're 14 points behind Arsenal but with a game in hand. If we win that, and against them at Anfield, then that's 8 points. Arsenal aren't going to continue their start and 8 points would be easily recoverable over 28 games.
It's worth remembering that their first 6 games were Villa, Fulham, Bournemouth, Leicester, Palace & Brentford and they lost 3-1 at United (and were lucky as hell to win yesterday at Leeds). They aren't an all conquering juggernaut by any stretch of the imagination, though played a great game against us it should still be noted.
In all likelihood it's not going to happen but it's also worth considering it as still being possible for a team under Klopp, that has overcome larger deficits (forget what Klopp said, he's not saying that to the team in private).
