Other games this weekend

I'm with Rurik. Forget their fans, they will have done it the 'right way' giving Arteta time and some money but nothing like the Oil State clubs. And it'd fuck with the heads of that arrogant club/fans/Guardiola no end - you'd love to see it (whether it's Arsenal or us).

That said I don't count us out yet. City have shown more weakness this season (they've not really played anyone of real consequence yet unless you include United or Newcastle away, which they drew 3-3) and Haaland may have started like a house on fire but he'll get injured or have a poor spell. As far as reeling them in, the Rangers game and now this may have kick-started our season, our confidence will be sky high and the World Cup break may help too.

We are 10 points behind City with a game in hand but have yet to go to the Etihad. A very tough ask but we've come from further behind them before.

We're 14 points behind Arsenal but with a game in hand. If we win that, and against them at Anfield, then that's 8 points. Arsenal aren't going to continue their start and 8 points would be easily recoverable over 28 games.
It's worth remembering that their first 6 games were Villa, Fulham, Bournemouth, Leicester, Palace & Brentford and they lost 3-1 at United (and were lucky as hell to win yesterday at Leeds). They aren't an all conquering juggernaut by any stretch of the imagination, though played a great game against us it should still be noted.

In all likelihood it's not going to happen but it's also worth considering it as still being possible for a team under Klopp, that has overcome larger deficits (forget what Klopp said, he's not saying that to the team in private).
And the fact that there are a few seemingly strong teams above us could work to our favour - they can all take points off each other

United's 28 attempts on goal was the most by any side in a Premier League match this season, the most Antonio Conte had ever conceded in his top-flight managerial career, and had it not been for the heroics of Hugo Lloris, the scoreline would have been just as emphatic.

Utd arent even that good. Spurs were really shite.

To be fair, if it was Harry Kane yesterday for that 'push' by Burn it would 100% have been a penalty.

Xhaka just scored for Arsenal vs. PSV. What a turnover he is having this season, alongside Kepa.

Almiron looked like he had something when Benitez first brought him in, i thought that promise was dead and buried but he’s looking like he has it again. Sickening to see Newcastle actually improving players, i was hoping for years of throwing money at donkeys before they could start their ascension.

Villa looking abject against Fulham, lucky to be only 1:0 down. If they don’t turn it around in the next 45, one feels it’s curtains for Stevie…

League games against Brentford, Newcastle, Man Utd and Brighton to come. I think Aston Villa will have a new manager by the time we face time in Dec. 😳

Jack Grealish, the master motivator…
He really is unbelievably thick. A career shelf-stacker if he couldn't play football (not an attack on supermarket shelf-stackers, many of whom are at an interval time in their lives before going onto some other employment) !

Really sharp performance from Newcastle, who took advantage of two Lloris errors to give Spurs their first home loss this season.

Almiron was outstanding today, full of running and a great finish for his 5th in his last 5 games.

And to perform that way without their main 2 attackers in Isak and Saint Max makes is all the more impressive.
