NFL Regular & Post Season Thread

Re: NFL Regular Season Thread

I don't understand how the Cowboys gave this game to the Giants ... December it is and I'll be VERY surprised if we don't come out of it with a 1-4 record and a 9-7 season with no playoffs (again ...)

So many stupid errors ...

- Bennett's drop on the 1st drive.
- Inability to score on the 2nd drive with 3 downs in the Giants 10 (the 31st ranked defense in the Red Zone)
- A STUPID STUPID STUPID fumble with in the last minute of the 2nd quarter that gets the Giants in to the half with a 14-10 lead instead of a 10-7 deficit
- Up 21-17, they give up a 74 yard TD pass to Brandon Jacobs. That was terrible
- STUPID penalty on a big kick off from Felix
- Punt return from a TD with 5 guys missing tackles

December ... and to think how well Romo has been playing (bar that one suicide pass that Witten caught)
EDIT - and missing a wide open Roy Williams with 4 minutes to go that would have given us a chance ...

December ... there goes our season.

At least Roy's started catching the ball...

I love Calvin Johnson. I know I'm biased, but I really wouldn't swap him for anyone.

Sadly he'll never get the credit on a woeful team. He just gets double and triple teamed 9 out of 10 plays.
Ahhh so in a few years time, we can call him the greatest ever.

Jeez, you never let it go, do you? Even when you say you're gonna stop...

Re: NFL Regular Season Thread

I fucking hate this stupid fucking game!

There's no fucking sport like it for insane results from week to week.

Today, Dallas, Pittsburg and New England all lost in ridiculous manner to teams that they're CLEARLY better than... WTFingF?

Don't worry, at least you can still rely on Detroit for some consistency.

Re: NFL Regular Season Thread

Went to my first Colts game.

Made the Titans look like small timers.

Peyton Mannings is the dogs bollocks.

Re: NFL Regular Season Thread

HA HA HA HA (sorry Oncey, this really isn't meant to you) but Cleveland - those oh so mighty Browns - beat the mighty defending Super Bowl champion Steelers ... 6-7 and out of the playoffs probably ... Don't worry, the Cowboys will join them (I think) in 2-3 games time.

Second best QB in the league.

Behind Matt Stafford? 😉
Nope, SANCHEZ!

Re: NFL Regular Season Thread

Nope.

Drew Brees. 😛 The Pepe Reina of the NFL - no fuss, no muss, but there's nobody I'd sooner have in that position in my team. He has to go to the Pro Bowl this season.

Re: NFL Regular Season Thread

Except he won't, as its now before the superbowl so they won't risk him.

Unless you're saying the vikings will win the nfc of course 😉

Re: NFL Regular Season Thread

Peyton has done it his whole career - and has won in the big games, and has proven beyond a shadow of a doubt, he is probably the best 'on field' manager the NFL has seen in quite some time.

Tom Brady is excellent too.

Those two are still far better QBs than Brees imo.

Re: NFL Regular Season Thread

Saint - bollocks to that last bit. 😉

Wizzy - fair points. I should have said "this season". With that added, I stand by what I did say.

That is a real shocker. Would love to see the Cowboys join them, but I think they will make the playoffs unless Romo has a bad December .... hang on..

Tom Brady is nowhere near where he was before his injury. He's improved a lot since his first few games, but I still think his accuracy is suffering.

If Romo plays in December like he played against the Giants, we'll be fine. He was fantastic - 3 bad passes (the 'INT' throw to Witten, and one under thrown pass to Williams and the missed TD pass to Williams late) out of 55 ...

Re: NFL Regular Season Thread

Problem with that Avy, is that if Romo passes 50+ times in a game, it means that they've abandonned the run, which will also make it easier for the defense to play them...

When balanced, this Dallas O is amoung the league's best. When unbalanced, it spells trouble.

To be honest, I think we should have beaten the Giants even with that 'inbalance'. It took a few stupid (Or 'December'ish?) plays on our part (Barber fumble, Jacobs TD, Hixon TD) to kill us.

If the Cowboys had 'any' brains, they'd put Choice as our starting RB tomorrow ...

Re: NFL Regular Season Thread

I can't tell what's worse this year, being a COwboys fan or a LIverpool fan.

First half musings

1) Jason Garrett should be fired
2) Nick Folk, like I've said for two weeks now, should be cut - he needs a fresh start somewhere
3) How do we only have 3 points at HT?
4) Things could be worse, I could be a Lions fan.

oh, and 5) Jenkins is close to be an elite cover corner ... Really like how he's progressed since last year.

Re: NFL Regular Season Thread

In case anyone missed it, Brandon Marshall (denver) set the NFL record for most receptions in a game today in his team's loss to Indy (21 catchs, beating TO's record of 20, which he set in Jerry Rice's last game for the Niners if I'm not mistaken)

Re: NFL Regular Season Thread

It wouldn't be worse avvy, you have expectations whereas I don't. I expect us to get hammered so am not too fussed. All I hope now is that we can get Suh in the draft (though I think he'll be gone before then). I greatly enjoy cowboys decembers though. 😉

Demarcus ware is seemingly fucked

He was moving all extremities before and after they strapped him up - probably precaution ...

Let's hope he makes a full recovery -

Re: NFL Regular Season Thread

this december will be the end of the Phillips era in Dallas but I somehow feel for him.

We should have won last week, and I think we were the better team this week too ... But it means shit because this team still can't grind out these wins in December. It's not Romo - he played find. I just don't know what the hell to blame it on. I think we can still make the playoffs if we go 2-3 for the month, which is possible. But this, plus the woes of Liverpool, I'm just a very depressed sports fan.
