NFL Regular Season Thread

It not Plax its Brandon Jacobs stop being a Cowboys fan for a bit

Plax numbers during his 9 games 35 rec 454 yards and 4 tds, very nice numbers but hardly the center of our team or the reason we can't pass the ball anymore

Jacobs numbers during his 11.5 games (PHI, BAL) he came out early - 195 att for 1002 yards and 12 tds (5.1 y/c)

those are dominant numbers. Our first quarters consistent of hand the ball of , hand the ball of, pass a short 3rd and 2 if necessary.

Record without Brandon (ARI, PHI, DAL) 1-2 only beating the crappy Cards.
Record without Plax before the suspension 2-0 after 1-2 (the same games Brandon Jacobs has been our of though - we won the won he was in) aka 3-0 without Plax and with Brandon

games he had 3 receptions or less: 6
longest completion: 33 yards
largest fantasy points total in a game: 13

hardly a vital cog it is down to Brandon Jacobs, if we get him healthy for the playoffs we are the same dominant team with the same method of beating teams into submission. Brandon makes the team better Brandon makes the O-line better, and It is about time he get more credit for that.

The cowboys d-line was very good last night and you still didn't trash us. We hit Romo just as much and we were in the game for much of it despit our inability to do anything right. Newman played very well which was the key imo. Barber was missed by youse but not us much as Brandon by us because he takes Derrick Ward and makes him a great change up instead of an average nfl RB. and then Bradshaw is special late on in games(even though he still looked our best offensive weapon that night - wish hed been used more)

(I can't wait till we have Osi and Kiwanuka on the DE next year with Tuck in the middle most of the game.)

Where the fuck did the Giants defense go?

There's an argument to be had for Manning hanging around in the pocket for a fucking eternity waiting to throw the thing of course, but surely there has to be some degree of coverage and protection for him?

Assulin, if you listen to the Cowboys' coaches who drafted the game plan, they all showed respect to Jacobs BUT they all said not having to worry about a 6'6" WR who is practically impossible to put single coverage on makes any defense's life much much easier.

Who did you guys beat without Plax? Seattle!!! GOOOLLY!!!!

(btw, fantasy stats mean nothing in real football games)

washington, who beat you
You mean the 7-7 skins, who are out of the playoffs and whom the Cowboys beat 14-10 during our recent 4-1 stretch?

Its really weird how different Liverpool Avram and Dallas Avram are.

the NFL brings out my dark side ... just please don't tell anyone.

im not gonna talk anymore about this, the stage is set, we'll see happens if you meet us in the playoffs

insh'allah

(your statement is corrected appropriately)

It's quite comical how intense you two get about the Giants and Cowboys.

I wish I could be that blatantly biased and over the top about my team too, but it's difficult.

Why am I biased? I even corrected his statement to say 'IF' the Cowboys make the playoffs ...

Now Oncey on the hand ... don't even get me started!!!!!!

(That was a poor attempt at humor Oncey, please forgive me)

Well, it could end up long winded debate and that wasn't the point, more so that you seem to lose your "Liverpool" common sense logic when talking about your NFL teams... that said you've took a dramatic downturn verging on depression in recent weeks.

Ah well, I've had a couple of pints so will say it anyway.

Barry nails Emmitt hands down.

*runs*

I'm not sure why it's the case ... To be honest, it probably has to do with the fact that a) I went through HS & uni in New York and b) bar one great super bowl win against the Steelerettes, I dealt with non-stop abuse by mostly Giant supporters. And I was very very into it back then ... I'm just down on the Cowboys this year b/c the city of Dallas isn't producing any capable winners in any sport (Stars, Mavs & Rangers) ... So they were the only chance for something 'special' ... Alas, at least there's memories of the triplets and the 3 in 4 year stretch while Barry was in his prime.

I just don't have a common sense sports fan mode

I always love my team the most and think they can do the business

How good was the Cowboys 2005 Draft?

1 (11) Demarcus Ware OLB Troy
1 (20) Marcus Spears DE LSU
2 (42) Kevin Burnett OLB Tennessee
4 109) Marion Barber HB Minnesota
4 (132) Chris Canty DE Virginia
7 (224) Jay Ratliff DE Auburn

Ware - one of the top defensive plyaers in football
Spears & Barber & Canty - starters
Ratliff - starter and 1st time pro bowler
Burnett - back up LB & stand out special teamer

Gotta love that ...

What have they won?
so does that make Barry Sanders worse than Bettis? Or any RB who has won?

Well obviously not, but Barrys name echo's from the recordbooks through history.

Ware, Barber et all may turn out to be great talents, but they've been an average part of an average team so far (3 years on) and may continue in that vein.

Hope not, lets not forget i have a special place in my heart for the Cowboys.
Them Everton, Manu, Celtic and Millwall.

For 1st and 2nd round draft picks, Spears and Burnett have been very ordinary.

difficult loss this one was ... as bad as the Steelers' loss ...

Romo had a horrific game ... and he missed Miles Austin & TO on big big plays, when both were wide open.

I said we'd go 1-1 in the last two and miss the playoffs ... Let's hope I'm 'right' with the record and 'wrong' with the outcome.

I hate the cowboys but i love you, so for that reason, i am rooting for you.

And feel a bit sick about it.

ha ha ... to tell you the truth, when i have no expectations about the team - i normally don't feel as down about it. We don't deserve it anyways this year - hopefully, we'll be back next year with a new offensive coordinator and wade back at head coach and d-coord

1 game mate ... remember, in 93/94 (I think), the Cowboys started 0-2 and won the Super Bowl ...

Heh, just read this again after the Lions went 0-1. It didn't quite work out the same did it?
