NFL Regular & Post Season Thread

Re: NFL Regular Season Thread

So here it is, the one time a year the Lions are ever on tv and Stafford and Calvin are out 🙁

I predict 34-0 Packers.

Re: NFL Regular Season Thread

And then, Avy's boys will make that look tame compared to what they do to my lot...

Or am I actually applying the ol' reverse Jedi mind trick..?

Eh? Eh?

Re: NFL Regular Season Thread

Lions 14 - 35 Pack
Cowboys 7 - 3 Raiders
Denver 28 - 35 Giants

I would love if it was the following:

Lions 42 - 21 Pack
Cowboys 42 - 0 Raiders
Denver 3 - 0 Giants

Re: NFL Regular Season Thread

So 2 minutes in I see what I was hoping for (Matt Stafford to Calvin Johnson, 7-0).

Sadly there's another 58 minutes 🙁

maybe not so interesting... Texans falling apart

They crashed and crashed hard.

Colts have got their number.

Re: NFL Regular Season Thread

Some great games this weekend ... A few brief highlights:

- Atlanta wins on a last minute TD pass, this is without their starting QB (Ryan) or RB (Turner).
- The Eagles win on a last second FG to beat the Skins, this is after being down most of the game.
- Pack ... uuuuh, I mean the Vikings kill the Bears thanks to Favre's big day (32/48, 392 yards and 3 TD passes) ... MVP?
- Vince Young does it again ... He gets placed as a starter after the team is 0-6, and 5 wins later, the Titans could still make the playoffs. He tossed the winning TD with 00.00 on the clock and his stats were brilliant (27/43 with 387 yards and the winning TD).
- Steelers lose in OT to the Ravens (maybe if they had a decent kicker the WHOLE season, their record would be far better) ... Both teams are now 6-5. Could the Steelers be watching the playoffs this year? Oh I hope so - them and the Giants would suit me just fine.

Vince..Vince ...Vince... Vince...

I have a soft spot for the titans as I lived in nashville for a year and due to Vince Young. I am a longhorn and he gave me one of the best ever sporting nights in 2005 ( next only to Istanbul) in the national championship game. He is going to be a superstar once he settles down. His ability to perform in tight situations is immense.

Re: NFL Regular Season Thread

Holy Shit the (no longer are they) 'Aints are impressive.

Looking at their schedule, they will go 16-0 if the Falcons or Cowboys don't beat them over the next 3 weeks ...

A colts pats and saints vikings championship weekend qould be quite superb methinks

won't happen ...

Re: NFL Regular Season Thread

Ho.Lee.Moe.Lee.

That was as complete a game, against one of the other best teams in the league as I've ever seen...

That's one hell of a team, chaps. This team could well go unbeaten, without too much challange in doing so - Dallas is their only real test in the regular season, and once they have home field advantage throughout the playoffs, it's really only Minnesota that I can see possibly containing them in the Superdome. And I don't think that they would for the whole game.

Wow.

If everybody reamains healthy on all four of those teams, that's what I'd put my money on today...

And, to be honest, I don't see either AFC team challanging the Saints, if they make it. Minnesota aren't quite as explosive, imho, but I'd still have them as favourites if it's them - For the first time in ages, the top two team in the NFL are CLEARLY in the NFC, I think.

Re: NFL Regular Season Thread

Falcons/Cowboys are the only team that could beat the Saints- though the team that will do it will have to be almost perfect defensively, or with a defensive genius, to eliminate what Payton has done with that offense. This 'Aints team is good though, really really good and they have to be favorites ... Just compare the 11-0 Colts' game against the Pats to see the gulf in class between the Colts & Saints.

The only team in the AFC that can challenge them is Pittsburgh I think - but who knows.

Btw, Cowboys, as you've said, are creating few turnovers (I think 13 or something so far) but the scoring defense is amongst the best in the league ... If both keep up, I'll be happy.

Re: NFL Regular Season Thread

Keep talking, fellas. I wonder if even guys as knowledgable as you have any real idea how long we Saints fans have been waiting for this. ;D

Sad testament to a franchise that had the 2nd best RB of all time ...

Didn't you win one playoff game during the Bobby Hebert, Pat Swilling, Ironhead Heyward days?
