NFL Regular & Post Season Thread

Re: NFL Regular Season Thread

interesting as always Derek but I will say three things:

you're ranked 16th in overall defense. You've had to be brilliant for the entire 2nd part of this first half of the season to get to 16th, mate

1) Aren't the Giants top 5 in overall defense? And they've been plastered the last 4 weeks (Saints and Eagles hit them for 40). Our defense, despite ranking 'poorly' in sacks, INTs and TOs (at least not that TO!), gives us a chance to win every game - and that's all I want until those 'almost' plays become the aforementioned sacks, INTS & TOs.

2) I am VERY worried about the Skins/Raiduhs games ... Very worried. We don't come out of that with an 8-3 record, we will struggle to make the playoffs.

3) It's amazing how much this team has improved by getting rid of Team Obliterator & the other cast offs. If anything, that has turned the Boys into a team. Still a long way to go though.

The Browns have just thrown their first TD pass to a WR in over a year.

Fucking Lions.

Yeah, well, I'm fucking delighted... 'Cos you HATE the Raiders, but pretend you don't! 😉

Re: NFL Regular Season Thread

FUCKING HELL

The Browns WR's don't catch a TD for over a year, now they have 2 in under 10 minutes against the Detroit fucking Lions.

CUNTS (the Lions that is)

I'm impartial to the Raiders 😉

I do hate the Cowboys though.
I don't, despite what some would have you believe. I am impartial on them though, and Dallas is a VERY entertaining place to live during the week after a Cowboys loss...

You think some of us on this site are knee-jerk? Wow.

Listen to this station anytime (it's good), but especially if they lose: www.theticket.com

Re: NFL Regular Season Thread

Cleveland Browns have set a season high for points in a game. It's the 1st quarter.

Quinn is on 158.3 rating.

Re: NFL Regular Season Thread

This is exactly why no other shit team understands. The Bucs, Rams, Browns, Chiefs, etc.

The Lions are truly the worst sports franchise in the world.

Re: NFL Regular Season Thread

see why I was so worried about the Redskins D?

We're down 3-0 and we just missed a 46 yarder - our kicker may need to be cut soon, that's two 'important' misses the past two weeks.

Giants just scored to go up 17-7 ... If things stay the same, we're tied with them ...

I hear ya, amigo.

This team is so Jekyl and Hyde, it's amazing.

I figured that, even with the whole 'rivalry' thing, these 'Skins are so rubbish that you'd plaster them. They must drive you insane.

Have you accidentally thrown yourself out the window when you got it back to 24 - 24?

Re: NFL Regular Season Thread

We've done this kind of thing before. In 3 plays we could easily be 45-24 down.

Until we have a 24 points lead with less than 2 minutes left, we're fucked.

Well ... after you get spoiled with Aikman, Irvin & Smith for so long - you kinda forget that is not the norm. I'm used to this already.

To be honest, if we lose, season over.

We're good, have some faith.

Second half will be a different story.
I thought that last week ole chap - I think we will but I don't know if being optimistic is working with me and the Cowboys the past two weeks! 😉

Giants are only up 17-14 now ... Falcons just went right through them ... Come on BIRRRRDS

Re: NFL Regular Season Thread

Touchdown Cowboys, 7-6 with 2:41 left in the game.

Old school slug fest.

Re: NFL Regular Season Thread

Mr. Almost, Anthony Spencer, who's been so close to a sack the whole season seals the game with a HUUUUGE INT.

This was ugly but we got the win. And it was really important ... now if ONLY the Falcons can beat the Giants in OT, it would be a fantastic turnaround ...

Re: NFL Regular Season Thread

7-6 game over.

Told you, a win is a win, is a win.

We'll gain confidence Thanksgiving with the demolition of Oakland.

Re: NFL Regular Season Thread

The Chiefs have stunned the Steelers in OT ...

Quick point about the Cowboys - Surely Jason Garrett needs to 'take the blame' for the shit we're seeing the past two weeks? Highest paid coordinator in the NFL and he's not even worth it.

Re: NFL Regular Season Thread

Stafford had a great day, albeit against Cleveland, but still those are great numbers.

Re: NFL Regular Season Thread

The score and numbers tell half the story.

6 points down and 88 yards to go in a minute or so with no timeouts left.

Final play on the 32 yard line.... tossed it up in the endzone for CJ which was intercepted. Defensive pass interference on CJ... free play on zero seconds from the one yard line.

Stafford hurts his arm and goes off injured... Culpepper comes on... Browns call a timeout... Stafford comes back on and throws the winner.

Incredible.

Re: NFL Regular Season Thread

Stafford is now the youngest qb ever to throw five touchdowns in a game, beating dan marinos record by over a year.
Go lions!

Re: NFL Regular Season Thread

I've come to the conclusion that Cutler is one of the worst QBs in the game right now (which is good for us eagles fan), his decision making is abysmal.

I'm not sure if it's the Bears' system but he just looks lost most games - he's had some brilliant games but he really made a serious mistake when he left the Broncos, who were ideally suited to his cannon of an arm.

Re: NFL Regular Season Thread

Nice wins for both my teams yesterday...

The real team beat the Jets quite comfortably in the end, despite making it closer than it should have been for a while. Sanchez helpes us out by losing his mind once or twice as well. Still can't believe that we pissed last week's game away... We should be fighting for home field throughout the playoffs at this point.

The pretend team beat a good team at home, again. After getting beaten by Kansas last week. They're insane. And now, after playing well yesterday, that ensure them a beating by approx. 147 points when they come here on Thursday - Can't wait!

Re: NFL Regular Season Thread

The Buffalo Bills reached out to former Pittsburgh Steelers coach Bill Cowher, but he has informed them that he's not interested in interviewing for the job at this time, a source said Monday.

Bills owner Ralph Wilson has been aggressive in the past week trying to find a big-name replacement for fired coach Dick Jauron. He has arranged for a meeting this week with former Broncos coach Mike Shanahan. Cowher was another logical choice.

Cowher has been selective over the past couple of years in deciding the type of team he wants to coach. According to a source, Cowher doesn't want to interview for a job he's not going to accept despite the fact the Bills might be willing to pay top dollar for the right coach.

According to the source, Cowher told the Bills he wants to wait until the season ends before he starts interviewing for a job. Cowher is going to continue his broadcasting career and then see what's available after the season.

I think next year, unless Wade wins the big one, Cowher or Shananan will be the next Cowboys head coach ...
